    5/5 Spooky on Nov 4, 2023

This is the second apartment I’ve lived at in the last 3 years and honestly I could hardly be happier. The rent is a bit steep, I will admit, but maintenance is extremely prompt and lowkey, neighbors are awesome, and management/admin is never in your business. Not to mention the property is very pet friendly, though there HAVE been issues with pet waste cleanup lately apparently… But we plan on renewing our lease in the next few months! Everyone here is great !

    Living in Kent, OH

Situated along the Cuyahoga River, Kent is the largest city in Portage County, Ohio. Known as the home of Kent State University, this small city is one of the best places to live in Ohio, home to a lively lifestyle, affordable living costs, diverse community and excellent educational opportunities. Falling under a humid, continental climate classification, Kent renters should be prepared for cold, wet, and snowy winters and warm and humid summers. Temperatures typically vary between the low 20s and low 80s throughout the year. In particular, the spring and summer months are susceptible to thunderstorms, so renters should be prepared for the occasional thunderstorm and rare hurricane warnings. The proximity to Cleveland and the educational facilities make Kent a great spot to rent for families with children, students, and young professionals who want to live in a quiet and affordable city with a quick commute to big cities and its amenities.

    Renting in Kent, OH

Kent mostly offers apartments for rent in the southeast quadrant near Kent State University. Rents are lower here because the apartments are typically smaller with one to three bedrooms. Alternatively, for those who are looking for more family-friendly neighborhoods and spacious rentals in Kent, the northern area has neighborhoods with three- to five-bedroom rentals closer to recreational activities, parks and transit areas. Notably, while the law doesn’t limit how much the landlord may ask for as a security deposit, it’s usually one month’s rent. For any excess amount of that or $50 (whichever is higher), the landlord may pay an interest rate of 5% per year if the tenant stays six months or more. In addition, the security deposit has to be returned within 30 days of vacating the rental unit. The rental agreement should outline the payment of utilities and other rights and responsibilities of the renter and landlord.
