Read some helpful reviews of SoCal Self Storage at 2581 East Colorado Blvd, shared by real renters with genuine experiences and honest opinions.

I had the best experience using SoCal Self Storage. First, Moses at the Hollywood location recommended the folks in Pasadena since they had units that might suit my needs better (love how all the locations work together). Then, Juan and the folks this Pasadena location were just as wonderful as I got moved in (it was a big time crunch with their Sunday hours, but they were really helpful and understanding)! The parking lot was huge and easy to pull the Uhaul truck I was using (though they have one you can use, which is awesome, too—just decided to get one closer to where I was moving from); and the unloading/loading area from the building was easy and secure. They have tons of great dollies and EXTRA WIDE elevators. The automatic sliding door operates on a code so it was safe and secure, but helpful to have a few friends helping here and there so we could open from the inside as we went in and out. We were able to use the restroom and get complimentary ice water from the office which was SO APPRECIATED! The unit itself was LARGE; much larger than it looked—I fit the entire contents of a 10’ Uhaul into my 5’ wide x 10’ deep x 8’ tall SoCal storage unit by stacking things up high with abt 3 square feet of room to spare(I had lots of stackable bins & kept a folding step stool there, hot tip), to my GREAT relief. Overall, the whole staff was super kind, responsive, and again accommodating to deal with as I moved out of my unit a few months later. I was recommended to SoCal by a friend and would highly recommend them again to anyone. They’re also one of the most affordable options out there (I’m thrifty, so this says a lot) and seem to run specials often! Hope this helps! ... Read more

THE. BEST! I do EXTENSIVE research on everything before choosing anything! This place TRULY CARES about their customers and they KEEP THEIR WORD! I had reserved a move in date and needed to change the date. He actually held the unit for me and NO other place would do that! Juan is so accommodating, empathetic, professional, knowledgeable, patient, efficient, and kind! I had a few phone calls with Mike too, and he's equally so! Compared to all the storage facilities I called to shop and compare (Public Storage, Trojan, Extra Space Storage, etc) this place is competitively (cheaper than the others) priced. The unit is clean and safe with plenty of parking. I have to drive about 25 to 30 mins (on a good day) to get here but it's worth the peace of mind. Juan's commitment to the highest level of customer service is to be commended! I hope that his hard work and dedication is acknowledged and rewarded! ... Read more

I was paying over $500 a month at Public Storage for a 9x10 unit. SoCal Self Storage was HALF that price. The staff is incredibly friendly and helpful. I can't believe I didn't find this place sooner. I can not recommend this place enough. ... Read more

This place is great. Super clean, secure, easy and clean elevators, constant airflow and fumigation if needed (never seen a bug but that’s part of the brochure). We stored a one bedroom worth of goods there for 18 months and it didn’t even have any dust on top. With their tight access, I have one pro-tip for a move with a larger moving truck: keep someone downstairs to unlock the door and one at your unit for directing how your items get stored. Getting your crew locked out can be a pain otherwise! They are closed on major holidays but that’s because there’s always someone in the office. 10/10 would keep stuff here again. ... Read more

Frequently Asked Questions

Storage units available at SoCal Self Storage - 2581 East Colorado Blvd include the following amenities: Climate-Controlled, Indoor, Drive-Up Access, Retail Available, Onsite Manager, Truck Rentals, Security Camera, Parking, Credit Cards Accepted, Elevators and Multi-Level Storage. Depending on what you need to put away in storage, you can discover there are some things you absolutely need, so make sure you check with the facility manager that you'll find everything you need on site.

This particular storage facility provides self storage units of different sizes, ranging from 20 to 360 square feet. Space is not an issue! If you have more belongings to store, or simply bulkier items or even vehicles, you should go for larger storage units.

You already know how much stuff you need to put in self storage, so figuring out the unit size you need is the next step. Smaller units such as 5'x5' or 5'x10' spaces can usually be filled with the amount of items you would normally store in a closet: a few chairs and lamps, sports equipment, garden tools and some boxes.

Moving on to larger sizes, imagine the 10'x10' and 10'x15' units as similar to a bedroom or a living room – larger pieces of furniture, sturdier equipment and bicycles can fit here. Finally, a 10'x20' unit has enough space for the contents of a 3-bedroom house, while the larger 10'x30' space easily accommodates the contents of a loaded semi-truck.

Monthly prices for units offered by SoCal Self Storage - 2581 East Colorado Blvd start from $105 and can go up to $899 for larger spaces.

Accessibility and quickness are key when it comes to storage, so drive-up storage units are generally regarded as very convenient. Pull your car right up to your storage space, load, unload, and you're good to go! However, if you're mostly storing temperature-sensitive items, you should rather consider indoor storage units.

Climate-controlled units maintain consistent temperatures and humidity levels all year round, making them perfect for all your sensitive items. Moisture and varying temperatures can damage a whole host of things, and that is why a lot of people choose to use climate-controlled units to store items like wooden furniture, electronics, artwork, documents and photographs, collectibles, antiques, etc. If the belongings you're storing are important to you, you should consider renting a climate-controlled unit.
