Read some helpful reviews of StoragePRO of Oakland-Franklin Street at 1205 Franklin Street, shared by real renters with genuine experiences and honest opinions.

I’ve been a customer for more than 2 years now. I compared rates from major chains and this location has the best rates. It’s family and women-owned location. All the staff are nice. I lost my key to the lock and I asked for their lock cutting service. It was less than $40! I was hoping for a big $70-$100 bill, but no. This place is amazing! My rent did not even go up for renting over 2 years. Other places would have doubled or tripled my rent! ... Read more

Really great place for a storage. Clean, accessible and staff always helpful. From the manager to the maintenance technician, I always felt supported. I’ve moved out now, but had to mention how from moving in to moving out and all in between was smooth sailings. ... Read more

Clean and very convenient storage location in downtown Oakland. Staff are friendly and helpful. Note: the access hours are currently 8:00am to 8:00pm which should be adjusted to allow earlier and later access. There were a couple of times I left work too late and couldn’t access my unit. That is my only suggestion for improvement. ... Read more

Updated review: Adrienne was super helpful, but I still have to give this business one star, because I was told that my storage unit would have lights, but there weren't any. Not like a lightbulb burned out, the entire 10' x 25" basement unit wasn't even wired for lights, bare cement walls, pitch black. I injured myself pretty good trying to load my stuff in the dark, my cell phone light didn't cut it. Bring a flashligh, or better yet rent from a place with lights. ... Read more

The storage units are good, location was great for me, but the staff is amazing. Warm, friendly, and helpful. Everyone who worked there, every time I came in, I was greeted with smile and a kind comment or light joke. When I was done, the process was so simple. I sent one email and when I had vacated they noticed and thanked me for being a customer. Very impressed with them overall and this location, in particular. ... Read more

Chio is the best manager and the most customer friendly storage agent I have ever dealt with. She’s smart, she cares, she cuts through red tape. All my experiences at Franklin Street with her have been excellent. ... Read more

Frequently Asked Questions

Storage units available at StoragePRO of Oakland-Franklin Street - 1205 Franklin Street include the following amenities: Indoor, Drive-Up Access, Retail Available, Onsite Manager, Contactless Renting, Security Camera, Gate, Credit Cards Accepted, Multi-Level Storage and Online Payment. Depending on what you need to put away in storage, you can discover there are some things you absolutely need, so make sure you check with the facility manager that you'll find everything you need on site.

This particular storage facility provides self storage units of different sizes, ranging from 20 to 150 square feet. Space is not an issue! If you have more belongings to store, or simply bulkier items or even vehicles, you should go for larger storage units.

You already know how much stuff you need to put in self storage, so figuring out the unit size you need is the next step. Smaller units such as 5'x5' or 5'x10' spaces can usually be filled with the amount of items you would normally store in a closet: a few chairs and lamps, sports equipment, garden tools and some boxes.

Moving on to larger sizes, imagine the 10'x10' and 10'x15' units as similar to a bedroom or a living room – larger pieces of furniture, sturdier equipment and bicycles can fit here. Finally, a 10'x20' unit has enough space for the contents of a 3-bedroom house, while the larger 10'x30' space easily accommodates the contents of a loaded semi-truck.

Accessibility and quickness are key when it comes to storage, so drive-up storage units are generally regarded as very convenient. Pull your car right up to your storage space, load, unload, and you're good to go! However, if you're mostly storing temperature-sensitive items, you should rather consider indoor storage units.

Climate-controlled units maintain consistent temperatures and humidity levels all year round, making them perfect for all your sensitive items. Moisture and varying temperatures can damage a whole host of things, and that is why a lot of people choose to use climate-controlled units to store items like wooden furniture, electronics, artwork, documents and photographs, collectibles, antiques, etc. If the belongings you're storing are important to you, you should consider renting a climate-controlled unit.
