This is my first storage experience and I've learned that if you want a storage on the first floor, it's more expensive. But it seems like this is standard practice for most storages. Also, the sizes on the top floors are definitely smaller than the size they say they are, but the ones on the first floor seemed to be sized right. Checking in was easy and quick, but after that, the rates kept raising without warning. We rented in Mar and since then, they've raised their normal rate 3 times, and 1 time on the insurance (which you have to have). I started off with $164/month with insurance at $25 and now in Oct, 6 months later, it's $244/month and the insurance is $31. The only time I got a warning about this was one email. I tried to talk to one of the staff there once about the raised rates and switching storage, but I've caught him at a bad time as it was near the end of the shift and he was clearly SO high, he couldn't follow what I was telling him. Then he told me to "stop talking down" on him when I was trying to explain to him what I wanted in simple terms because he wasn't following me after explaining multiple times. To be fair, he may be right. I had to ask him to call his manager but he was not explaining to his manager properly what I wanted, so I asked him to put his manager on speaker phone. BUT he had to try three times to get his manager on the speaker phone because instead of putting the manager on speaker, he kept hanging up on him. Eventually, I got my answer from the manager. So there's that. Expect your rates to raise without warning and that sometimes you may have to deal with a stoned employee. If you're wondering, we are no longer renting from them. ... Read more

So far so good. My initial interaction was with Nathaniel at the front desk. He explained everything in detail and was very personable, which I appreciated. After I completed the check-in, Ben introduced himself and showed me everything I needed to know about my storage unit. He assured me that I was in good hands there. He was very cool too and I felt very comfortable with him and Nathaniel. I’m happy I chose them to store my stuff there ... Read more

Frequently Asked Questions

Storage units available at StorageMart - 2450 Mandela Pkwy include the following amenities: Indoor, Drive-Up Access, Retail Available, Onsite Manager, Contactless Renting, Security Camera, Parking, Credit Cards Accepted, Multi-Level Storage and Online Payment. Depending on what you need to put away in storage, you can discover there are some things you absolutely need, so make sure you check with the facility manager that you'll find everything you need on site.

This particular storage facility provides self storage units of different sizes, ranging from 24 to 288 square feet. Space is not an issue! If you have more belongings to store, or simply bulkier items or even vehicles, you should go for larger storage units.

You already know how much stuff you need to put in self storage, so figuring out the unit size you need is the next step. Smaller units such as 5'x5' or 5'x10' spaces can usually be filled with the amount of items you would normally store in a closet: a few chairs and lamps, sports equipment, garden tools and some boxes.

Moving on to larger sizes, imagine the 10'x10' and 10'x15' units as similar to a bedroom or a living room – larger pieces of furniture, sturdier equipment and bicycles can fit here. Finally, a 10'x20' unit has enough space for the contents of a 3-bedroom house, while the larger 10'x30' space easily accommodates the contents of a loaded semi-truck.

Accessibility and quickness are key when it comes to storage, so drive-up storage units are generally regarded as very convenient. Pull your car right up to your storage space, load, unload, and you're good to go! However, if you're mostly storing temperature-sensitive items, you should rather consider indoor storage units.

Climate-controlled units maintain consistent temperatures and humidity levels all year round, making them perfect for all your sensitive items. Moisture and varying temperatures can damage a whole host of things, and that is why a lot of people choose to use climate-controlled units to store items like wooden furniture, electronics, artwork, documents and photographs, collectibles, antiques, etc. If the belongings you're storing are important to you, you should consider renting a climate-controlled unit.
