Avoid this one. The elevator was broken every time I tried going in the last few months and this happened last year too. I ended up carrying several loads of boxes up the stairs and will need to hire movers for the heavier furniture. I was told there is no site manager to speak to, only a few different part time people covering for the job. The parking lot is full of covered boats and cars with boots that are taking valuable room and making it harder to walk around, not sure what that's about. Silver lining is the person working there last time I was there was good at helping me close the account and request a month's refund due to the elevator situation. Not sure if I'll get it though. ... Read more

Do not rent here - the elevator is out and apparently has been for a year. I showed up with loads of heavy furniture with only a narrow staircase available to access my unit. They also refused to refund my rent for the month I had paid ahead. ... Read more

~ not suitable for moving trucks ~ (I think the truck has to be under 9' to fit) Cons: elevator was out for 3+ months, 9 months ago it was out for 2+ months, district manager gave unreasonable timelines (e.g. 'should be ready by next week', that was 6 weeks ago), front office often empty (I've seen people stuck waiting multiple times), can't accomodate moving trucks since height limit for parking lot Pros: clean, customer service was friendly ... **long review warning** I have utilized this company’s services in Los Angeles, Denver, and San Francisco, and, unfortunately, the service at this particular location has been disappointing. Regrettably, it has reached a point where further complaints seem futile. Here is a summary of my experience: I specifically chose this location because it is open on holidays. However, on both Thanksgiving Day and New Year's Day, I was unable to open the gate. Additionally, the office was closed on these holidays, meaning there was no way to speak with a live representative. The contact numbers listed on their website and Google are automated systems, which did not provide any resolution. I filed a complaint with customer service, and I was informed that the store manager would follow up, but I never received any communication regarding my concerns. Most recently, on February 2nd, 5 p.m, Iencountered another issue. An employee, who appeared to be Asian male in his late 30s to 40s and was wearing glasses, failed to inform me of the closing time and attempted to leave. When I requested assistance with the gate, he just told me "the office close at 5pm" "I am leaving" and "You need to watch the time". While I acknowledge that missing the closing time ONLY 3mins was my responsibility, I found his tone to be unnecessarily dismissive and unprofessional. There was no need for him to be curt or unkind in his response. To the store manager: I strongly encourage you to remind your staff that while friendly service is always appreciated, it is essential to maintain a professional boundary with customers. Clients are not your friends or family, and treating them with respect and courtesy is paramount. Thank you ... Read more

Frequently Asked Questions

Storage units available at Public Storage - 6676 Mission Street include the following amenities: Climate-Controlled, Indoor, Retail Available, Onsite Manager, Contactless Renting, Security Camera, Credit Cards Accepted, Elevators, First Floor Access and Multi-Level Storage. Depending on what you need to put away in storage, you can discover there are some things you absolutely need, so make sure you check with the facility manager that you'll find everything you need on site.

This particular storage facility provides self storage units of different sizes, ranging from 25 to 100 square feet. Space is not an issue! If you have more belongings to store, or simply bulkier items or even vehicles, you should go for larger storage units.

You already know how much stuff you need to put in self storage, so figuring out the unit size you need is the next step. Smaller units such as 5'x5' or 5'x10' spaces can usually be filled with the amount of items you would normally store in a closet: a few chairs and lamps, sports equipment, garden tools and some boxes.

Moving on to larger sizes, imagine the 10'x10' and 10'x15' units as similar to a bedroom or a living room – larger pieces of furniture, sturdier equipment and bicycles can fit here. Finally, a 10'x20' unit has enough space for the contents of a 3-bedroom house, while the larger 10'x30' space easily accommodates the contents of a loaded semi-truck.

Monthly prices for units offered by Public Storage - 6676 Mission Street start from $86 and can go up to $411 for larger spaces.

Accessibility and quickness are key when it comes to storage, so drive-up storage units are generally regarded as very convenient. Pull your car right up to your storage space, load, unload, and you're good to go! However, if you're mostly storing temperature-sensitive items, you should rather consider indoor storage units.

Climate-controlled units maintain consistent temperatures and humidity levels all year round, making them perfect for all your sensitive items. Moisture and varying temperatures can damage a whole host of things, and that is why a lot of people choose to use climate-controlled units to store items like wooden furniture, electronics, artwork, documents and photographs, collectibles, antiques, etc. If the belongings you're storing are important to you, you should consider renting a climate-controlled unit.
