This January, the average rent for an apartment in Charleston has increased more than in other surrounding cities, such as North Charleston, where rates went up by 1.4%, reaching $1,088. On the other hand, apartment rents in Mount Pleasant went up by 0.9% and reached $1,478.

What it costs to rent in the Charleston metro area

Despite a 1.4% increase, Hanahan rentals are the most budget-friendly option in the Charleston area, with an average price of $1,039.
