Been here about 5 years could use some updating on appliances & paint . Bathroom vent fan spins but no exhaust!!! Microwave does the same thing no exhaust . Other than these issues we Enjoy our apartment .

MAA James Island is not a bad place to live but some improvements could definitely be made. Mostly I think that the giant company of MAA has extremely backwards rules and they charge you for stupid things that make no sense with no way to make your money back. That said, I wouldn't have lived here for three years if I absolutely hated it

Ive been living here for 2 years now and I love it. However, I feel as though $1900 a month for my 1 bedroom is a little over budget for what these apartments are worth. I would like to see white walls, updated kitchen thats also more spacious, and no carpet. When it comes to amenities, since ive been here the trash compactor has been broken for weeks at a time, pool has been closed for the beginning of the summer, and the gym was closed for a period as well. As im sure there is a reason to the madness it was a little inconvenient. I too feel as though the fees are a little excessive. I don’t use cable and I have to pay for it with the wifi package which I could do without (I’m assuming thats the “connect fee” thats $50 and im not sure what the taxable one is but… However, the staff here have been great, my neighbors are super chill, and the location is awesome.
