Orlando’s average rent reached $1,388 in January after a 3.1% decrease since last year. One of Florida’s largest job hubs and a renter-majority city (63%), Orlando is a desirable place to live and work in, with apartment prices below the national average of $1,392.
The average rent for an apartment in Orlando decreased, while in Kissimmee ($1,352) prices went up by 1.2% since last year, and in Sanford ($1,209), rent went up by 1%.

What it costs to rent in the largest renter hubs in the Orlando area
The city with the largest renter share is Orlando (63%), followed by Altamonte Springs, with 59% renters. In Altamonte Springs, apartment rents increased by 2.5% since last year, reaching $1,253. Kissimmee, with an average rent of $1,352, has the third largest share of renters (57%) and has experienced a rent increase of 1.2% since January 2020. In Sanford, where 50% of the population are renters, the average rent is $1,209, seeing an increase of 1% compared to the past year.
