Mostly Very Happy To Be Here

I moved into The Stella this year in February after signing an 18-month lease. This is a brand-new high-rise, so there have been "growing pains." I and many others were allowed to move in while construction of amenities continued. This meant there was a lot of banging and clanging. The good news: Residents weren't charged the $95 monthly amenities fee until all amenities were up and running ~ which took about six months. My BIG complaint about The Stella is this: Residents who ignore the rules regarding their pets. You'll routinely run into fellow residents who let their dogs run into the elevators and through the halls off-leash. They also let their dogs pee and poop without cleaning up after them. The Stella prides itself on being "pet-friendly." But the quality of life here would improve if management were less friendly toward residents who act as though the rules regarding pets don't apply to THEIR dogs. I like animals but don't own a pet, and I've had some stressful encounters on Stella elevators because of dogs rushing in off-leash as their grinning owner asks, "Do you mind?" YES, I MIND AND I'M SICK OF IT. I will end on a positive note with this: Location, Location, Location. It's fantastic. A wealth of things within walking distance: Shops, groceries, delis, diners, casual restaurants, white-linen-tablecloth restaurants, the public library, the post office, parks, medical offices, dental offices ~ and best of all, the Metro-North Railroad station. It's just three blocks away. Perfect.

Great location, wonderful staff

The building is lovely, but the fans from the HVAC are incredibly noisy. Had I known, I would not have rented at market price here.

Pet Policy

PET OWNERSHIP POLICY Resident may be permitted to have common household pets provided that the Resident complies with the following regulations: Manager must be notified in writing of the intention of any Resident to have a pet.  The size and type of the pet must be stated. Household pets will be defined as cats, birds, fish, and      dogs. No reptiles will be permitted. Only TWO (2) pets per apartment will be permitted. (Fish excluded) No exotic birds will be permitted. Prior to admittance and thereafter on an annual basis, all dogs and cats must be inoculated for rabies and distemper and treated for fleas. Proof of compliance must be provided to a management representative. Pets are NOT permitted in the Amenity areas with exception of the Pet Play and Spa area. Pets are not permitted to roam free outside and must be always leashed. Residents with pets are required to immediately remove all pet waste. Pet waste must be placed in a plastic bag, sealed, and put in the trash shoot in the refuse rooms. Residents must take ALL necessary steps to assure that their pets do not make any noise which will be disturbing to other residents. If a pet persistently makes excessive noise, the Management reserves the right to have the pet permanently removed from the property. Financial obligations of the pet owner: Cat and dog owners must pay a one-time non-refundable pet fee of $500 In addition, cat and dog owners will pay a monthly fee of: Dogs:   $50.00 Cats:    $20.00  Pet owners must pay the actual cost for any damages to conditions which were caused by their pet: i.e.: carpet stains, pet waste, scratched walls/trim/paint/floor, and flea infestation. If a pet should exhibit behavior that constitutes an immediate threat to health or safety, we will notify the appropriate state or local authority to have the pet removed. We will allow cats and dogs and accept a maximum of two pets per home. Pets must be always on a leash when outside the Apartment.  Dogs must be leashed whenever walking on the premises. Management reserves the right to deny residency to any animal deemed aggressive. Should your pet injure any other pets, residents, or guests, you will be asked to remove the pet from the premises immediately. The following pets are also restricted: Monkeys Ferrets Snakes Rabbits Livestock Reptiles
