You can hear everything

I love this location and the apartment complex. But the noise tends to get a little out of hand.

LUND is lacking

I have been a resident at The Duke for over two years and while I love the location and the staff and maintenance are friendly, the building leaves a lot to be desired. I am told this building went up fast and there are structural cracks and elements that seem to confirm that. The south door on the 2nd floor of building 3 had to be filled down bc it wouldn't close due to the wonky construction of the building. There are also visible cracks in the wall around the elevator (as well as elsewhere) and the floor there is completely uneven. The windows are so cheap that you can feel cold air pouring into the bedroom as well as a burst pipe on the 4th floor...all signaling shoddy construction. Also, there wasn't a lot of communication around that burst pipe which leaves a lot to be desired. I reached out to LUND about their sprinklers/water use at the complex over the summer and heard nothing in response. The sprinklers were on any where from 12:30pm - 6:30pm in over 90 degree heat, basically during the hottest part of the day. Not only am I concerned with how to best use our water resources, but it is a waste of money as the grass is often scorched and the water bill is passed along to residents. Speaking of water, the hot tub or rather the doors leading to the hot tub (which are supposed to remain open year around) have been closed on multiple occasions when I have attempted to use the amenities. And this is during hours of operation. I think what is even more painful sometimes is that, before experiencing all these things, I suggested The Duke to three friends of mine, all of which currently reside here. I have literally bought in tens of thousands of dollars to LUND and now I am left wondering were it all goes. The term "luxury" is very loosely held.

PREPARE TO BE TOWED

TOWED FOR ANY SUBJECTIVE REASON Residents and guests I was told cars will be towed for and not limited to having a flat tire, having expired tags, parking in the same spot for too long, etc, etc, etc. My car was towed from the gated parking area for having expired plates. My plates are not expired. When I called the front desk they told me to call Rapid Response Towing. I called the tow company and they refused to give me back my car unless I paid $233.00, even though my plates are not expired. When I went to get my car, I had to wait outside in 100 degree heat for an hour before a mechanic showed up and finally released my car. My car would not start because of how it was towed. Luckily the mechanic there got it started for me. I fear parking here that I may be targeted based on my interaction with the tow company. I would not recommend parking/living here https://www.facebook.com/RapidResponseTowingLLC

Great amenities and kind neighbors. Safe neighborhood

My only gripe is Cox Cable. Renting a router with neighbors on the same broadband channel is very slow and insecure. A hacker infiltrated my work laptop and has made me paranoid. I am now working to buy my own router and address my own security issues.
