Currently storing with them and risking more rude behavior to warn others not to store here. I work a 9-5. They allegedly close at 6. I just drove an hour to get there by 5:30, and for the third time, I arrived during business hours and they were closed. I’ve been scolded for leaving the facility by 5:55 and told I need to leave sooner. They absolutely need to update their hours. I wouldn’t have stored here if their hours were 9-5:30. I literally rely on that time and hate walking into a space I pay for and feeling the resentment from staff. Working on moving my stuff elsewhere. ... Read more

That guy is VERY VERY VERY RUDE. I was going to pay at the front desk and the guy said you guys shouldn't be here I'm going to close up. I said what time do you close. He said 4:30. I said oh ok. He said yeah I close 20 min early. I checked the time it was 3:23?! He was also talking to me with an attitude it sounded like he was yelling and also rolling his eyes at me. He even doesn't let me put my things in my unit a lot ?????????? ... Read more

The guy in charge of this location is incredibly rude. A father and son manage this location. The son seemed to be a reasonable guy, but the father was the worst manager I've ever seen. We had a reservation for a 15 foot truck. When we got there, we just asked the guy if a larger truck was available, and he started screaming at us. It only got worse from there. We asked about the timeline for returning the truck, and he started screaming again. We had a reservation for 2 dozen furniture pads. They did not have any. The son at least tried to help, started calling other locations to see if they had any available, the father was just rude and told us we had made the reservation with u-haul, and it doesn't matter what we reserved because they were out of pads. I had made the reservation 5 days in advance, that should have been enough time to make sure they were ready for what their customer had reserved. The customer service was really poor, and I would never go back to this location every again. ... Read more

Frequently Asked Questions

Storage units available at StorCal Self Storage - 6411 De Soto Avenue include the following amenities: Indoor, Drive-Up Access, Retail Available, Onsite Manager, Truck Rentals, Security Camera, Credit Cards Accepted, Elevators, First Floor Access, Multi-Level Storage and Online Payment. Depending on what you need to put away in storage, you can discover there are some things you absolutely need, so make sure you check with the facility manager that you'll find everything you need on site.

This particular storage facility provides self storage units of different sizes, ranging from 35 to 300 square feet. Space is not an issue! If you have more belongings to store, or simply bulkier items or even vehicles, you should go for larger storage units.

You already know how much stuff you need to put in self storage, so figuring out the unit size you need is the next step. Smaller units such as 5'x5' or 5'x10' spaces can usually be filled with the amount of items you would normally store in a closet: a few chairs and lamps, sports equipment, garden tools and some boxes.

Moving on to larger sizes, imagine the 10'x10' and 10'x15' units as similar to a bedroom or a living room – larger pieces of furniture, sturdier equipment and bicycles can fit here. Finally, a 10'x20' unit has enough space for the contents of a 3-bedroom house, while the larger 10'x30' space easily accommodates the contents of a loaded semi-truck.

Monthly prices for units offered by StorCal Self Storage - 6411 De Soto Avenue start from $115 and can go up to $575 for larger spaces.

Accessibility and quickness are key when it comes to storage, so drive-up storage units are generally regarded as very convenient. Pull your car right up to your storage space, load, unload, and you're good to go! However, if you're mostly storing temperature-sensitive items, you should rather consider indoor storage units.

Climate-controlled units maintain consistent temperatures and humidity levels all year round, making them perfect for all your sensitive items. Moisture and varying temperatures can damage a whole host of things, and that is why a lot of people choose to use climate-controlled units to store items like wooden furniture, electronics, artwork, documents and photographs, collectibles, antiques, etc. If the belongings you're storing are important to you, you should consider renting a climate-controlled unit.
