Staff is friendly if you go in person, but follow through from this location’s website is not great. I have applied for a unit four times on line and have never been called back or emailed a response. They tend to not answer the phone either so in-person is essentially the only way to contact them. ... Read more

Friendly staff and monthly fee was great. Last 5x10 unit available. Opens early at 7am and closes late at 7pm. There are three problems and one is dangerous! People are speeding. Blocking stalls and the exit with multiple cars. A group of people with 6 cars, were completely blocking a corner! One of them was speeding with a guy hanging on the tailgate! ... Read more

Owners are super nice. They'll answer all your questions for you and help however they can. The cons are as someone stated in their review: Homeless folks- they're around and also inside the storage. No vehicle, just searching through their storage, staying in there and rummaging. But I also understand, hard times right now. Lighting- the lighting doesn't work so around this winter time it gets dark early so it's really hard to see. The switches do not work in any of the units as I was told. Size and price- it does feel very small for my 10x10. It doesn't even look like it or feel like it, although it's close or exact. My other 10x10 is a bit bigger for some reason. Could be a bit less expensive, honestly. Plus the units are very old. ... Read more

Frequently Asked Questions

Depending on what you need to put away in storage, you can discover there are some things you absolutely need, so make sure you check with the facility manager that you'll find everything you need on site.

This particular storage facility provides self storage units of different sizes, ranging from 25 to 800 square feet. Space is not an issue! If you have more belongings to store, or simply bulkier items or even vehicles, you should go for larger storage units.

You already know how much stuff you need to put in self storage, so figuring out the unit size you need is the next step. Smaller units such as 5'x5' or 5'x10' spaces can usually be filled with the amount of items you would normally store in a closet: a few chairs and lamps, sports equipment, garden tools and some boxes.

Moving on to larger sizes, imagine the 10'x10' and 10'x15' units as similar to a bedroom or a living room – larger pieces of furniture, sturdier equipment and bicycles can fit here. Finally, a 10'x20' unit has enough space for the contents of a 3-bedroom house, while the larger 10'x30' space easily accommodates the contents of a loaded semi-truck.

Monthly prices for units offered by Derrel-s Mini Storage - 3330 East Tulare Street start from $44 and can go up to $550 for larger spaces.

Accessibility and quickness are key when it comes to storage, so drive-up storage units are generally regarded as very convenient. Pull your car right up to your storage space, load, unload, and you're good to go! However, if you're mostly storing temperature-sensitive items, you should rather consider indoor storage units.

Climate-controlled units maintain consistent temperatures and humidity levels all year round, making them perfect for all your sensitive items. Moisture and varying temperatures can damage a whole host of things, and that is why a lot of people choose to use climate-controlled units to store items like wooden furniture, electronics, artwork, documents and photographs, collectibles, antiques, etc. If the belongings you're storing are important to you, you should consider renting a climate-controlled unit.
