Household income, artist qualifications & student status limitations apply. The household income is based on GROSS annual income (before any deductions) earned from all sources including wages, social security payments, public assistance, pensions, annuities, interest income, dividends, stocks, bonds, insurance settlements, recurring gifts from family/friends, lottery winnings, etc. The property has a minimum household income requirement of 2.5 times the monthly rent amount to qualify. Third party verification will be required of all income and copies of tax returns and pay stubs may be required. Total household income must be UNDER the following limits based on household size: - 1 Occupant: $52,200 - 2 Occupants: $59,640 - 3 Occupants: $67,080 - 4 Occupants: $74,520 - 5 Occupants: $80,520 - 6 Occupants: $86,460 Immediate move-in date selection is subject to the application approval process. On average the full application process can take 7-10 business days to complete. Please note that the move-in date you selected could change to accommodate the approval process. In order to apply for an apartment loft, you must be an artist and meet the following requirements: At least one member of the household must demonstrate a commitment to their art form in order to qualify for residency. The creation of one’s work does NOT have to be the source of income for the individual or the family in order to qualify. To qualify as an artist, you must submit an on-line artist application that will be reviewed by a committee of artists. Application includes: - Resume, references, and portfolio - History of your creative work - Long-term creative and career goals - Desire to engage in a creative community. Some examples of artists include: - Fine Artists: Painting, drawing, sculpting, book art and print making - People Who Create Imaginative Works: Aesthetic literature, costume designers, photography, music composition and architecture - Functional & Craft Artists: Jeweler, potter, chef, quilt maker, silk screener, carpet maker, furniture maker, and toy designer - Performers: Singers, musicians, dancers, actors, and performance artists - Media Artists: Radio, film, television, multi-media, cyber-art, gaming, and animation - Design Artists: Graphic and web design, interior design, aesthetic design, package design and set design Application Tips and Tricks. Households comprised of all full-time students do not qualify for tax credit (affordable) housing. If there are students in the household, at least one member of the household must be a part-time student. Student status is based on the calendar yet, not the move-in date. Review

Maintenance requests have not been getting fulfilled as quickly as they used to in the past. In some cases it can take days or weeks to get an issue fixed and in some cases you have to call or request multiple times to get the job completed. For the most part, they do a good job but in the last year or two there's definitely been a noticeable lag in the response times and the resolutions. Communication could be a little better as well.

Artist retreat

I've lived here for 6 years and will be incredibly sad when it's time to move. I've built a really lovely life and community while living at the Schmidt Brewery Artist Lofts. The location is fantastic - it feels central to a cultural hub within St. Paul. Also being alongside the Mississippi River biking trail is ideal when we want to get outside and exercise. It has a huge piece of my heart and we feel so lucky to call it home!

Sub Par

Schimdt was a wonderful place to live years prior. It seems as though Dominium has lost interest in keeping up a standard with Schmidt as it is not the golden goose any more. Staff is great, owners are not.
