Read some helpful reviews of Public Storage at 4400 McGrath Street, shared by real renters with genuine experiences and honest opinions.

Terrible storage company, they kill you on the cost once your in for a few month. My space went from 330 to 450 after a year or so. It wouldn't be so bad if they explained this up front but its in the tiny writing you get when you sign up. ... Read more

I was looking around for a storage space that fit my business needs. Mikael helped me with the rental everything went smooth on the move with my phone as a gate clicker. It is fun with the kids to click us in. ... Read more

This place is actually a nice storage facility but only getting three stars on this review because of the lame voicemail I just received from the worker on shift 3/29/25 10ish am. Ok I get rules are rules, but some people don't have enough sense to know when to overlook look the little things. I was scolded for being like two minutes past their 9pm closing time. I was trying to go as fast as I could to get out of there and only was at the facility for like a time period of 10 min anyways. I needed something super important that was in my storage. I normally get to the facility earlier and this is a non issue for me. Well when I called the guy back to let him know it is silly to call someone for only being a couple minutes late, he snapped back like he was my angry girlfriend and said no it was more like five minutes. Are you flipping kidding me right now?!?! 5 minutes and you get a harassed and treated like you broke a major law. All I got to say is if I'm treated like this again I will be taking my stuff to the storage facility right across the street! ... Read more

I've been moving around a lot since college and have had to deal with many storage facilities. This Public Storage location has been the best by far! Joey gave me a great deal and explained every one of the company's policies professionally and effectively. I will continue to rent my unit from this location as long as I'm in the area and will definitely recommend it to everyone I know! ... Read more
Nathan M. - 4 March 2025
Renting storage is like buying auto insurance, you want the right thing, at the right price, with a good company. A good representative can often make or break that experience. Public storage emailed to say they want me back. I checked it out, found a unit and the price is right so I reserved it. Then dropped by to see it and I took the deal. Public Storage on McGrath in Ventura has a superstar named Mike. Mike is a total professional, very polite, friendly and is a good representative of Public Storage, like every business would want. This is a win-win for me! ... Read more

Frequently Asked Questions

Storage units available at Public Storage - 4400 McGrath Street include the following amenities: Indoor, Drive-Up Access, Retail Available, Onsite Manager, Security Camera, Gate, Parking, Credit Cards Accepted, Elevators, First Floor Access, Multi-Level Storage and Online Payment. Depending on what you need to put away in storage, you can discover there are some things you absolutely need, so make sure you check with the facility manager that you'll find everything you need on site.

This particular storage facility provides self storage units of different sizes, ranging from 24 to 200 square feet. Space is not an issue! If you have more belongings to store, or simply bulkier items or even vehicles, you should go for larger storage units.

You already know how much stuff you need to put in self storage, so figuring out the unit size you need is the next step. Smaller units such as 5'x5' or 5'x10' spaces can usually be filled with the amount of items you would normally store in a closet: a few chairs and lamps, sports equipment, garden tools and some boxes.

Moving on to larger sizes, imagine the 10'x10' and 10'x15' units as similar to a bedroom or a living room – larger pieces of furniture, sturdier equipment and bicycles can fit here. Finally, a 10'x20' unit has enough space for the contents of a 3-bedroom house, while the larger 10'x30' space easily accommodates the contents of a loaded semi-truck.

Monthly prices for units offered by Public Storage - 4400 McGrath Street start from $84 and can go up to $479 for larger spaces.

Accessibility and quickness are key when it comes to storage, so drive-up storage units are generally regarded as very convenient. Pull your car right up to your storage space, load, unload, and you're good to go! However, if you're mostly storing temperature-sensitive items, you should rather consider indoor storage units.

Climate-controlled units maintain consistent temperatures and humidity levels all year round, making them perfect for all your sensitive items. Moisture and varying temperatures can damage a whole host of things, and that is why a lot of people choose to use climate-controlled units to store items like wooden furniture, electronics, artwork, documents and photographs, collectibles, antiques, etc. If the belongings you're storing are important to you, you should consider renting a climate-controlled unit.
