I had an extremely disappointing experience with Jennifer, the manager at Public Storage. I made a reservation due to the fire in Altadena, as I urgently needed a place to store my belongings. When I arrived during business hours, no one was there. My car was full, and I had no choice but to go elsewhere. To make matters worse, Jennifer gave me a hard time when I requested a refund. She showed zero empathy for my situation and clearly didn’t care. I had to escalate the issue to Public Storage headquarters just to get my money back. It’s unacceptable that someone so indifferent to customer needs represents this company, especially when dealing with people going through difficult circumstances. Public Storage should do better. ... Read more

I had a great experience with Rafael. I came in before my Storage rental started to see if I could see my unit or one like it to get an idea of size. My unit is located at the location across the street and when I went by no one was there and I had no way to reach anyone, just a service to leave a message. I stopped in at this location and Rafael was SO friendly. He explained how everything worked, looked up my account and took time to show me a unit that was the same size as the one I rented. He even explained my upcoming bill to me and gave me information to help me with my move in and how to reach someone and gave me some insight on who to talk to and the timing for where the employees are. He was so friendly, his customer service was awesome and he really took his time. He was so nice and funny. He really set me at ease because I was feeling nervous after coming by and feeling like I wouldnt be able to reach anyone or have everything be automated. He's great and I hope his work is being appreciated because he definitely kept me as a customer when I had doubts. ... Read more

It was a catastrophe the public storage abroad answering service. They ( I spoke several different people ) I requested American customer service which is my right as a customer. They refused, and hang up on me. “They get pay for their non-customer service” At the end of the day I get a call from Rafael doing a follow up call and he was outstanding with his professionalism, and verbal communication Rafael is the only one, who gets ?????????? and I highly recommend a financial cash bonus or/and $2.00 race in his paycheck. Again Thank you so much Rafael ?????????? Roxana ... Read more

Frequently Asked Questions

Storage units available at Public Storage - 6400 Foothill Blvd include the following amenities: Climate-Controlled, Indoor, Drive-Up Access, Retail Available, Onsite Manager, Security Camera, Gate, Credit Cards Accepted, Multi-Level Storage and Online Payment. Depending on what you need to put away in storage, you can discover there are some things you absolutely need, so make sure you check with the facility manager that you'll find everything you need on site.

You already know how much stuff you need to put in self storage, so figuring out the unit size you need is the next step. Smaller units such as 5'x5' or 5'x10' spaces can usually be filled with the amount of items you would normally store in a closet: a few chairs and lamps, sports equipment, garden tools and some boxes.

Moving on to larger sizes, imagine the 10'x10' and 10'x15' units as similar to a bedroom or a living room – larger pieces of furniture, sturdier equipment and bicycles can fit here. Finally, a 10'x20' unit has enough space for the contents of a 3-bedroom house, while the larger 10'x30' space easily accommodates the contents of a loaded semi-truck.

Accessibility and quickness are key when it comes to storage, so drive-up storage units are generally regarded as very convenient. Pull your car right up to your storage space, load, unload, and you're good to go! However, if you're mostly storing temperature-sensitive items, you should rather consider indoor storage units.

Climate-controlled units maintain consistent temperatures and humidity levels all year round, making them perfect for all your sensitive items. Moisture and varying temperatures can damage a whole host of things, and that is why a lot of people choose to use climate-controlled units to store items like wooden furniture, electronics, artwork, documents and photographs, collectibles, antiques, etc. If the belongings you're storing are important to you, you should consider renting a climate-controlled unit.
