I've always had a great experience with this storage but last month when I made my payment I told the older gentleman I was vacating by the end of the month, what do I need to do. He said we give our tenants until the 10th if the month and just call me a few days before. I called today the 7th and some other man answers the phone and tells me I have a prorated balance...on what? I informed him what i was told and he said as of 2025 we no longer do that. I understand but this is what I was told by the older gentleman. This guy is rude and said we'll I'll fire the other guy since that's what you want. I told him that sounds ridiculous and waiving my fee is good enough since your dad told me the wrong information. I was talking normal to him until he kept telling me to calm down. After being told to calm down when you're just trying to be heard and talking normal of course is going to make the situation escalade. Your dad has been amazing all year. You sir took 5 minutes to ruin my experience. ... Read more

Be careful, I emptied my storage unit on the 10th of May after I got caught up on my rent not knowing the management had charged me for the month of May, when I saw my receipt after the unit was empty I realized I had payed for May, so I called and asked if I could be refunded for the month of May since the unit was empty and they refused to give me any reimbursement not even a partial or pro-rated refund for an empty unit that they can now rent out and receive rent for the month from someone else. ... I love the management here, they are super willing to work with you and the last thing they try to do is sell your stuff if you miss a few payments. A place that cares about their customers. 5 months behind on payments and we still worked things out. I’d give 10 stars if I could. ... Read more

Horrible customer service. Denied any restroom use due to the “thrashed” one available but not available, while he sits in front of a bathroom quoting we do not have public restrooms. Well there is a sign outside and your office is open. Why is it not being repaired or a sign stating there is no longer bathrooms? Now I have to have children guard a unit and truck just to make my way over to Burger King before I have an accident. Not worth your time or money. ... Read more

Depending on what you need to put away in storage, you can discover there are some things you absolutely need, so make sure you check with the facility manager that you'll find everything you need on site.

This particular storage facility provides self storage units of different sizes, ranging from 25 to 600 square feet. Space is not an issue! If you have more belongings to store, or simply bulkier items or even vehicles, you should go for larger storage units.

You already know how much stuff you need to put in self storage, so figuring out the unit size you need is the next step. Smaller units such as 5'x5' or 5'x10' spaces can usually be filled with the amount of items you would normally store in a closet: a few chairs and lamps, sports equipment, garden tools and some boxes.

Moving on to larger sizes, imagine the 10'x10' and 10'x15' units as similar to a bedroom or a living room – larger pieces of furniture, sturdier equipment and bicycles can fit here. Finally, a 10'x20' unit has enough space for the contents of a 3-bedroom house, while the larger 10'x30' space easily accommodates the contents of a loaded semi-truck.

Monthly prices for units offered by Tehachapi Mini Storage - 509 West Tehachapi Blvd start from $70 and can go up to $350 for larger spaces.

Accessibility and quickness are key when it comes to storage, so drive-up storage units are generally regarded as very convenient. Pull your car right up to your storage space, load, unload, and you're good to go! However, if you're mostly storing temperature-sensitive items, you should rather consider indoor storage units.

Climate-controlled units maintain consistent temperatures and humidity levels all year round, making them perfect for all your sensitive items. Moisture and varying temperatures can damage a whole host of things, and that is why a lot of people choose to use climate-controlled units to store items like wooden furniture, electronics, artwork, documents and photographs, collectibles, antiques, etc. If the belongings you're storing are important to you, you should consider renting a climate-controlled unit.
