My experience at COS has been outstanding. From the start Isaiah the manager has been very helpful, accommodating and excellent to deal with. He is always around there working and keeping things up. Best manager we have ever dealt with at COS or other storage facilities! ... Read more

Regret to report that the store manager Isaiah was a total jerk to me. I had asked him if I would be able to access the gate after I paid, granted I had been late because of a system failure. He told me that I would be able to access the gate. Then he comes to me and he disputes that I won’t be able to access the gate for a little while it’s gonna take time because I was past due. However, I told him I just paid cash and brought my account up-to-date. I asked him how long it would take. He would not tell me how long it would take for me to be able to access my storage unit. I am quite disappointed and discouraged about this storage location. I will move my things out of the storage and into another storage in about a month or two.. General managers and supervisors if you are reading this review, please speak to Isaih about his behavior. Thank you. ... Read more

From thel beginning I experienced problems with the management personnel. She told me I wasn't allowed there for more than 2 hours a day. I was moving my full load of personal belongings and heavy tool's into a unit that I figured out later that was 12 sqare foot less than I had rented on line and when I did a perimeter walk around I noticed that the chain link fence was cut and rolled back in the far southeast corner of the facility giving anyone access to the facility. I informed her that until these obvious breaches in my contract are not resolved I'm staying on the premises, I'm not going to leave items unsecured. She told me I couldn't stay there ,I asked for my money back. She told me it's non-refundable. I demanded she fix the issues. She rudely stormed off. The next day, she came with some big guy who tried to scare me into leaving. When I wouldn't leave, she came back with a letter of termination . I said not until I here from corporate management and get a full refund with compensation for my time. I am staying. So that evening, I was trying to make room for my belongings since the unit was short from the 100 square feet that I rented. I was building free-standing shelves. She came and told me I couldn't put shelves up. I told her she was an idiot, of course I can. Nothing in the contract that said I couldn't. Youve shorted me space i paid for. She left, and a few hours later, without warning, the Kern County sheriff deputy arrived at the facility and escorted me out, saying I was trespassing. I showed them my contract, and they said it was a civil issue, so so i left. They said I could wait outside the gate. Until morning and get a hold of corporate and work out my argument with them. I called and spoke with the facility management he informed me that they have no record of my contract being terminated. So I finished my shelving and closed up my unit about 2 months later, when I called to make a payment, I was informed that my unit # A-004 has already been paid, it appears that I unknowingly have a reoccurring pay charged to my creditcard, though they didn't have my unit # correct. I informed them that i never signed for reoccurring payments, and that wasn't even my unit number. My unit # is K- 198. The guy on the phone was silent for a moment and then said we'll have to call you back and hung up quickly. I was perplexed and had to get to the bottom of this but I waited for them to call me back thinking it would be that day I waited 5 days when I haven't heard from them I called back and told them my problem and was told that they would let management know of the dispute and get back to me. I then phoned my mother where I lived and I ask her to get my recent monthly bank statements and look to see if I was on reoccurring payment with koss storage, she faxed me the statements. I was in shock. They not only were never given permission from me to charge my credit card every month, but they also have been doubling up the amount that I supposed to pay They were charging me for 2 units from the beginning. I contacted the management and asked to speak with the person in charge they informed me that they would call me back. I said that's what I have been hearing from your company now for 3 months. I explained the problem to him. I said the last time I called, they gave me a completely different unit # . I told him the unit #A004 was on record that i paid for, and I was informed that there was no such unit #. What unit then? He told me K-198. Why am I being charged twice? He said he didn't see that. I informed him of my statements. Someone has been ripping me off and using my CC for online purchases of more than $2000. Has to be the gal who has been harassing me. Fraud and embezzlement. WOW! I'll let you all know the outcome. ... Read more

INFESTED with rats and bugs. Manager is never in site and when you bring up a problem she will blame staffing and the area for all HER problems… They bought a new golf cart but can’t clean the units or pay for the rat issue. If you want rats crawling on your items this place is for you! ... Read more

Frequently Asked Questions

Depending on what you need to put away in storage, you can discover there are some things you absolutely need, so make sure you check with the facility manager that you'll find everything you need on site.

This particular storage facility provides self storage units of different sizes, ranging from 25 to 400 square feet. Space is not an issue! If you have more belongings to store, or simply bulkier items or even vehicles, you should go for larger storage units.

You already know how much stuff you need to put in self storage, so figuring out the unit size you need is the next step. Smaller units such as 5'x5' or 5'x10' spaces can usually be filled with the amount of items you would normally store in a closet: a few chairs and lamps, sports equipment, garden tools and some boxes.

Moving on to larger sizes, imagine the 10'x10' and 10'x15' units as similar to a bedroom or a living room – larger pieces of furniture, sturdier equipment and bicycles can fit here. Finally, a 10'x20' unit has enough space for the contents of a 3-bedroom house, while the larger 10'x30' space easily accommodates the contents of a loaded semi-truck.

Monthly prices for units offered by COS Mini Storage - 20632 South Street start from $30 and can go up to $360 for larger spaces.

Accessibility and quickness are key when it comes to storage, so drive-up storage units are generally regarded as very convenient. Pull your car right up to your storage space, load, unload, and you're good to go! However, if you're mostly storing temperature-sensitive items, you should rather consider indoor storage units.

Climate-controlled units maintain consistent temperatures and humidity levels all year round, making them perfect for all your sensitive items. Moisture and varying temperatures can damage a whole host of things, and that is why a lot of people choose to use climate-controlled units to store items like wooden furniture, electronics, artwork, documents and photographs, collectibles, antiques, etc. If the belongings you're storing are important to you, you should consider renting a climate-controlled unit.
