The customer service I received was UNREAL! 10 stars if I could! Chrysti was exceptional! She made the process so smooth and easy. I called before arriving, let her know I was on a time crunch but needed a unit. She informed me of all the units available and all the information for each unit. By the time I showed up everything was ready to go, I was out of there within 10 minutes. She understood what needed to be done and excelled! The units are clean and the property is well kept. This will be my 3rd time getting a unit here, I will always come here if I need a storage unit! ... Read more

Actually a great storage space but the hours you have access is horrible. No earlier hour access or evening access. Not convenient if you work longer hours you cannot get to the storage unit because they are closed. If they stayed open later at least a couple days a week that would be a vast improvement. I checked out of my unit at the beginning of the month. No pro rated rent charge the full months rent of over $150 no partially refunded rent Total rip off after years of giving them money they ripped me off. Renters beware if you rent here. ... Read more

If I could put negative stars I would!! I rented a unit and was in the process of getting my property in it, I had a female Heather, and a guy with her Steve, come to my unit asking if I had a way to cut a lock, they had lost their key,so I said go to the manager Christine and have her cut it, she said she had been trying to get a hold of the manager to no avail. I said the only thing I had was a hack saw,she and Steve asked if they could borrow it. I again told them they should go to the manager. They claimed they did,and CLOSEING is at six. SO I looked down at the cameras and gave the saw. I spent another fourth five minutes to an hour unloading the truck,I got done walked down to their unit to get my saw,I noticed Steve not so good at cutting, damaged the door,so I said get a piece of plastic go between the door and saw, they didn't get it so I took the saw and had them hold flat plastic between as to not damage further. The lock was nearly cut I only made a few strokes to finish. This Heather woman asked if I'd help with my truck to haul their stuff out to her property, and she would pay me,so I agreed, got to where she said was her property and asked me why I had cloths and other belongings in the back of truck, I said I was looking for a place to park my travel trailer and live out of it till I got back on my feet, she said if I would guard her property I could park my travel trailer there for free if I guarded her property,I agreed, thought was a blessing for me. SO put my trailer there, went to go get some of my posestions, came back and my trailer was gone. Got strange behaviors from these two people, thought about the situation,so the next day I went to storage and talked to Christine, she blamed me for the cutting of the lock, yet she was manager and there with cameras the whole time and did nothing, so the owner and manager kicked me out? If there was a problem the manager should have gone out to the unit Heather and Steve were at and stopped the situation, cameras all over. But the manager did nothing, and put the blame on me!! All I did was try to help others! Isn't that supposed to be the Christian way. I didn't even get my stuff moved in and was forced to move out. Because the manager sat on her lazy rear ,watched and did nothing. Again cameras all over! Talked to others that used this place, they said their property was damaged, and other said stolen. SO their is no responsible managers or owner! ... Read more

I recently started using Amber Oaks storage in November 2022. My overall experience with the facility has been pleasant. Most of my interaction has been with Christie and she is very friendly and pleasant to communicate with. This is not a large city, and recently I saw her at the grocery store during the holidays. She did not have to go out of her way and acknowledge my family and I but she did, and remembered our names. If I had any gripes about the facility itself, it would be the lack of climate control considering the extreme hot and frigid temperatures in this area. Otherwise, the facility is clean and well-kept and has security cameras everywhere. ... Read more

Frequently Asked Questions

Storage units available at Amber Oak Self Storage - 801 West Tehachapi Blvd include the following amenities: Drive-Up Access, Retail Available, Onsite Manager, Truck Rentals, Security Camera, Gate, Parking, Credit Cards Accepted, Online Payment and RV Storage. Depending on what you need to put away in storage, you can discover there are some things you absolutely need, so make sure you check with the facility manager that you'll find everything you need on site.

You already know how much stuff you need to put in self storage, so figuring out the unit size you need is the next step. Smaller units such as 5'x5' or 5'x10' spaces can usually be filled with the amount of items you would normally store in a closet: a few chairs and lamps, sports equipment, garden tools and some boxes.

Moving on to larger sizes, imagine the 10'x10' and 10'x15' units as similar to a bedroom or a living room – larger pieces of furniture, sturdier equipment and bicycles can fit here. Finally, a 10'x20' unit has enough space for the contents of a 3-bedroom house, while the larger 10'x30' space easily accommodates the contents of a loaded semi-truck.

Accessibility and quickness are key when it comes to storage, so drive-up storage units are generally regarded as very convenient. Pull your car right up to your storage space, load, unload, and you're good to go! However, if you're mostly storing temperature-sensitive items, you should rather consider indoor storage units.

Climate-controlled units maintain consistent temperatures and humidity levels all year round, making them perfect for all your sensitive items. Moisture and varying temperatures can damage a whole host of things, and that is why a lot of people choose to use climate-controlled units to store items like wooden furniture, electronics, artwork, documents and photographs, collectibles, antiques, etc. If the belongings you're storing are important to you, you should consider renting a climate-controlled unit.
