Disappointed with Public Storage I rented a unit at Public Storage because I was assured it was a very safe place. Unfortunately, within a year, my unit was broken into, and all my camping equipment—worth around $7,000—was stolen. When I reported the incident, the response was underwhelming. The staff simply said, “Sorry, you should have paid for the insurance.” I was under the impression that the insurance was mainly for fire or water damage, not theft. If I had known the facility’s security wasn’t reliable, I would have reconsidered or ensured I had theft insurance. It’s frustrating that theft insurance isn’t included in the rental fees, considering security is one of the primary reason people choose storage facilities. This experience has left me questioning whether Public Storage truly prioritizes their customers’ belongings. If you’re considering this place, think twice and definitely pay extra for insurance—or look for a storage facility with better security measures. ... Read more

Few things. 1) My lock was broken down by their staff and replaced with a new lock installed without my permission though I am a long term renter for over 2 years. Lack of communication. I am still trying to get my $20 refund for my lock. But they do not have a system to refund or proper authority to refund. Emails never get answered. 2) Don't expect your call to be answered by a human to resolve any issues. May be they do it to keep a record of your commmunication but they fail to document it. So they are poor documenters. Chat on the web is never available. 3) It may work for kids to store but not for hard working people as their blood pressure go high due to frustration and unable to get prompt service on time. And if they are working, then god only needs to save them with time. I am very disappointed that I will never ever go to a Public Storage in future. They are also notorious to keep on increasing the rent as there is no rent control on Public Storage. Bad Business for renters but good Business for owners. ... Read more

Hard to recall a good experience here other than proximity when we needed to move a while back. Our unit(and others) have been broken into, at least twice. The elevator has been frequently out of service. Despite the sign on the door stating full-service assistance, I've never found a representative on-site, the site is usually dirty and smells. There is no access to a restroom. They frequently have pricing "adjustments", increases, while providing no additional value or service. Anyway... not a good experience and we have emptied our unit and closed our account at this location. ... Read more

Frequently Asked Questions

Storage units available at Public Storage - 317 East Weddell Drive include the following amenities: Climate-Controlled, Indoor, Retail Available, Onsite Manager, Security Camera, Parking, Credit Cards Accepted, Elevators, First Floor Access, Multi-Level Storage and Online Payment. Depending on what you need to put away in storage, you can discover there are some things you absolutely need, so make sure you check with the facility manager that you'll find everything you need on site.

This particular storage facility provides self storage units of different sizes, ranging from 25 to 150 square feet. Space is not an issue! If you have more belongings to store, or simply bulkier items or even vehicles, you should go for larger storage units.

You already know how much stuff you need to put in self storage, so figuring out the unit size you need is the next step. Smaller units such as 5'x5' or 5'x10' spaces can usually be filled with the amount of items you would normally store in a closet: a few chairs and lamps, sports equipment, garden tools and some boxes.

Moving on to larger sizes, imagine the 10'x10' and 10'x15' units as similar to a bedroom or a living room – larger pieces of furniture, sturdier equipment and bicycles can fit here. Finally, a 10'x20' unit has enough space for the contents of a 3-bedroom house, while the larger 10'x30' space easily accommodates the contents of a loaded semi-truck.

Monthly prices for units offered by Public Storage - 317 East Weddell Drive start from $82 and can go up to $291 for larger spaces.

Accessibility and quickness are key when it comes to storage, so drive-up storage units are generally regarded as very convenient. Pull your car right up to your storage space, load, unload, and you're good to go! However, if you're mostly storing temperature-sensitive items, you should rather consider indoor storage units.

Climate-controlled units maintain consistent temperatures and humidity levels all year round, making them perfect for all your sensitive items. Moisture and varying temperatures can damage a whole host of things, and that is why a lot of people choose to use climate-controlled units to store items like wooden furniture, electronics, artwork, documents and photographs, collectibles, antiques, etc. If the belongings you're storing are important to you, you should consider renting a climate-controlled unit.
