I recently had an experience with Public Storage that left me feeling quite conflicted. On one hand, I want to give a shoutout to Chris, who really went above and beyond to help me out. He managed to apply a credit to my account after I faced some frustrating issues while trying to upgrade my unit. His friendly demeanor and willingness to assist made a tough situation a bit easier. Kevin was also super helpful, which I appreciated. However, I can't overlook the corporate greed that seems to permeate this company. It's disheartening to see that they won't hire full-time employees, which I believe would not only benefit the staff but also improve customer service. How are you going to run a storage facility in Los Angeles county and not have 24 hours a day keeping an eye on things? The units themselves are misleadingly sized—roughly a foot and a half smaller than advertised in one direction and another half foot in the other. This lack of transparency is frustrating, to say the least. Especially when you're literally paying for square footage. Moreover, I've heard from other public storage customers about the potential predatory rate increases that occur twice a year. It's hard to justify staying with a company that prioritizes profit over people. I genuinely believe that if they treated their employees better—offering full-time positions with health insurance and benefits, were honest about unit sizes, and 100% upfront about annual rate increases: they could still thrive financially without resorting to such greedy corporate practices to maximize quarterly revenue for their shareholders.. ... Talk about a terrible experience. I came here 2 days ago, and no one is on the property. Spoke to someone on the phone to make a reservation. Came today, and no one is still in the office. Tried calling again, and they said they don't have a way to reach anyone on the property. I was told the other day that they no longer have someone on the properties anymore. No security pr workers to make sure things are secure or to help you if something goes wrong. I went to Extra Space and had a way better experience. Public Storage must be going down hill big time. I highly recommend you go to Extra Space. ... Read more

Would not recommend. Within the first two weeks, we had gate problems three times - we were either stuck outside or inside, during business hours. Staff isn’t in the office when you need them and don’t answer the customer service number displayed on the door. They also had a problem with their computer system when we signed up - the system assigned us a space automatically. The problem is that the employee showing us around had just shown us that space, and we noticed it smelled like weed, so we asked for a cleaner one. We were told they would switch us over to a different unit. What ended up happening is they added a unit to our account without removing the first one and then sent us a bill for both of them. Management: please get in touch to fix these issues ASAP. ... Read more

Very good service, I have been a customer at this location for years already, and Heidy always helped me. She is the best!!! If you need “HELP” with law costs but a good size storage ask for her, she will help you with everything. As mentioned above I always use this location for my storage needs, wrote a review two years ago and wanted to update! Rose is another girl working at the location, she is another exceptional help, always helpful, friendly, and helps to get the best deal and the storage. ... Read more

Frequently Asked Questions

Storage units available at Public Storage - 9036 Glenoaks Blvd include the following amenities: Drive-Up Access, Retail Available, Onsite Manager, Security Camera, Gate, Credit Cards Accepted, Elevators, First Floor Access and Online Payment. Depending on what you need to put away in storage, you can discover there are some things you absolutely need, so make sure you check with the facility manager that you'll find everything you need on site.

This particular storage facility provides self storage units of different sizes, ranging from 25 to 200 square feet. Space is not an issue! If you have more belongings to store, or simply bulkier items or even vehicles, you should go for larger storage units.

You already know how much stuff you need to put in self storage, so figuring out the unit size you need is the next step. Smaller units such as 5'x5' or 5'x10' spaces can usually be filled with the amount of items you would normally store in a closet: a few chairs and lamps, sports equipment, garden tools and some boxes.

Moving on to larger sizes, imagine the 10'x10' and 10'x15' units as similar to a bedroom or a living room – larger pieces of furniture, sturdier equipment and bicycles can fit here. Finally, a 10'x20' unit has enough space for the contents of a 3-bedroom house, while the larger 10'x30' space easily accommodates the contents of a loaded semi-truck.

Monthly prices for units offered by Public Storage - 9036 Glenoaks Blvd start from $97 and can go up to $415 for larger spaces.

Accessibility and quickness are key when it comes to storage, so drive-up storage units are generally regarded as very convenient. Pull your car right up to your storage space, load, unload, and you're good to go! However, if you're mostly storing temperature-sensitive items, you should rather consider indoor storage units.

Climate-controlled units maintain consistent temperatures and humidity levels all year round, making them perfect for all your sensitive items. Moisture and varying temperatures can damage a whole host of things, and that is why a lot of people choose to use climate-controlled units to store items like wooden furniture, electronics, artwork, documents and photographs, collectibles, antiques, etc. If the belongings you're storing are important to you, you should consider renting a climate-controlled unit.
