If I could give this place a zero I would. Guy at the desk was extremely rude. No customer bathrooms even for a pregnant lady. Ok. You’d think if you are paying to rent here they would have a customer bathroom and wouldn’t give you such a hassle about it. Make you walk to the park and not even give you proper directions… People these days are so inconsiderate. I would never give this place my business. ... Read more

Sad to see longtime patrons of Self Storage of Santa Maria mgt Byron and Patricia go, they left the business in good stead. The new mgt has some shoes to fill, so far they seem a good fit. I am the longest paying tenant., so I know what I am talking about. ... Read more

Awesome Storage! This is our third time back and I've got to say my wife and I have been pleased every time. The managers are super and have been there since our first rental 12 years ago. The place is clean, well kept and well managed. We've also rented from their sister storage in Paso for business use with the same results. Who would think anyone could get so excited about storage, but after hearing the horror stories from relatives that rented at other places in the north end of town I know we made the right choice. ... Love that it's always clean and insect/rodent free! Though rent went up 2 times in the last 4 months and I am told it will go up again soon, I would be unhappy to have to leave due to the frequent price hikes. ... Read more

I have been with this location for a number of years. They get great marks all around. My challenge with them is in the last two years they have raised their prices every 6 months or so. The rent on my unit has doubled and then some??? I did have a generous promotional rate upon move in (Thank you...), but even at regular prices, the rates have gone up to an uncomfortable financial level. At some point I will be moving my storage items.. ... Read more

Frequently Asked Questions

Storage units available at Self Storage of Santa Maria - 1701 Carlotti Drive include the following amenities: Climate-Controlled, Indoor, Drive-Up Access, Retail Available, Onsite Manager, Truck Rentals, Security Camera, Gate, Parking, Multi-Level Storage, Online Payment and RV Storage. Depending on what you need to put away in storage, you can discover there are some things you absolutely need, so make sure you check with the facility manager that you'll find everything you need on site.

This particular storage facility provides self storage units of different sizes, ranging from 16 to 440 square feet. Space is not an issue! If you have more belongings to store, or simply bulkier items or even vehicles, you should go for larger storage units.

You already know how much stuff you need to put in self storage, so figuring out the unit size you need is the next step. Smaller units such as 5'x5' or 5'x10' spaces can usually be filled with the amount of items you would normally store in a closet: a few chairs and lamps, sports equipment, garden tools and some boxes.

Moving on to larger sizes, imagine the 10'x10' and 10'x15' units as similar to a bedroom or a living room – larger pieces of furniture, sturdier equipment and bicycles can fit here. Finally, a 10'x20' unit has enough space for the contents of a 3-bedroom house, while the larger 10'x30' space easily accommodates the contents of a loaded semi-truck.

Monthly prices for units offered by Self Storage of Santa Maria - 1701 Carlotti Drive start from $65 and can go up to $237 for larger spaces.

Accessibility and quickness are key when it comes to storage, so drive-up storage units are generally regarded as very convenient. Pull your car right up to your storage space, load, unload, and you're good to go! However, if you're mostly storing temperature-sensitive items, you should rather consider indoor storage units.

Climate-controlled units maintain consistent temperatures and humidity levels all year round, making them perfect for all your sensitive items. Moisture and varying temperatures can damage a whole host of things, and that is why a lot of people choose to use climate-controlled units to store items like wooden furniture, electronics, artwork, documents and photographs, collectibles, antiques, etc. If the belongings you're storing are important to you, you should consider renting a climate-controlled unit.
