I have had a storage unit at Statewide for the large majority of four years. The staff has always been personable and helpful. The units, always clean and feel safe. What I particularly like about Statewide is the touch that it feels like that they really care. Who would think it, right? A storage unit at a building full of storage units, where people stow their life away… But the bathroom is full of nice decorations and charm, and the grounds are well taken care of, full of nice plants and a place to sit outside the building. Ironically, Statewide Storage Units feels like home. Not only are the people who run the place considerate and kind, but the feeling of the place gives a sense of security, and thats what we want for our things, I think. ... Read more

Cynthia was so helpful in helping out a college mama help her kid get the right sized unit for storing stuff for the summer despite being hundreds of miles away. She helped get everything set up so that my kid could just go in with a lock to finish out one last bit of paperwork. She answered all questions and she was very patient. Definitely made the experience easy! ... Read more

Statewide Self Storage in Santa Cruz is a great, secure facility that affords us security from danger, risk, or difficulty. We always feel safe at this clean and well-maintained instillation. Our units are clean and rodent free. In addition, the grounds are very well kept and beautifully landscaped. We've rented several storage units for the last couple of years and have come to the realization that this is truly the safest storage place in Santa Cruz. The company is family-owned, trustworthy and reliable, plus the prices are very reasonable. The Manager, Cynthia, is professional, warm and accommodating. Cynthia is also very helpful, caring and understanding. We've been a patron for several years now and have never had any problems. Great customer service. Highly recommended! ... Read more

I've had only the very best experiences at Santa Cruz Statewide Storage. Years ago my son had a unit, when I came back to town he was having seizures and it caused memory issues. Because of that he had much confusion regarding many things including the storage unit. The owner was kind, helpful and went well beyond the call of duty. I will never forget her kindness and compassion. About a year and a half ago I called to see if I could get a unit. This amazing woman remembered me and my son, and again went out of her way to accommodate. I got on the list and shortly a unit came up. When I went to pay I found out she was dying. She talked to me about it matter of factly. We stayed in the office after closing and talked about her decision not to prolong the inevitable, and how she felt ready. It's so rare to meet people like her. I think of the things she told me and I hope she knows they are with me always. She has now passed and the world is missing a very bright and shiny human. She was the real real. Now there are new peeps carrying on and as her karma would have it, they are equally as wonderful. I am so thankful to have statewide storage. It is a non anxiety, mindful business and greatly appreciated by me?? Thank you for reading this, it is obviously much more than a review. However, Statewide is an excellent storage facility. I highly recommend this business. ... Read more

Frequently Asked Questions

Storage units available at Statewide Self Storage - 2650 Mission Street include the following amenities: Indoor, Drive-Up Access, Retail Available, Onsite Manager, Security Camera, Gate, Parking, Credit Cards Accepted, First Floor Access, Multi-Level Storage and Online Payment. Depending on what you need to put away in storage, you can discover there are some things you absolutely need, so make sure you check with the facility manager that you'll find everything you need on site.

This particular storage facility provides self storage units of different sizes, ranging from 20 to 80 square feet. Space is not an issue! If you have more belongings to store, or simply bulkier items or even vehicles, you should go for larger storage units.

You already know how much stuff you need to put in self storage, so figuring out the unit size you need is the next step. Smaller units such as 5'x5' or 5'x10' spaces can usually be filled with the amount of items you would normally store in a closet: a few chairs and lamps, sports equipment, garden tools and some boxes.

Moving on to larger sizes, imagine the 10'x10' and 10'x15' units as similar to a bedroom or a living room – larger pieces of furniture, sturdier equipment and bicycles can fit here. Finally, a 10'x20' unit has enough space for the contents of a 3-bedroom house, while the larger 10'x30' space easily accommodates the contents of a loaded semi-truck.

Monthly prices for units offered by Statewide Self Storage - 2650 Mission Street start from $95 and can go up to $240 for larger spaces.

Accessibility and quickness are key when it comes to storage, so drive-up storage units are generally regarded as very convenient. Pull your car right up to your storage space, load, unload, and you're good to go! However, if you're mostly storing temperature-sensitive items, you should rather consider indoor storage units.

Climate-controlled units maintain consistent temperatures and humidity levels all year round, making them perfect for all your sensitive items. Moisture and varying temperatures can damage a whole host of things, and that is why a lot of people choose to use climate-controlled units to store items like wooden furniture, electronics, artwork, documents and photographs, collectibles, antiques, etc. If the belongings you're storing are important to you, you should consider renting a climate-controlled unit.
