Paz was super helpful. Showed me a couple units and was extremely informative and friendly and made me feel like this storage space was not only professional and secure but also filled with positive energy. I asked if I could upgrade from a personal to a business account at some point in the future without changing the lease. This was a pretty obscure request, so Paz spent time speaking with multiple district managers to gather enough information before giving me a thorough answer. Thanks Paz ... Read more

I need access to my online account in order to use the mobile app to open the gate, but I can't get into my online account. I get a message saying the password is incorrect. I'm supposed to get a password reset email when I click on the Forgot Password button, but the email never comes. Automated customer is no help and I have not been able to get a live agent. EDIT: At some point in the reservation process I had to create a password for my email address. I thought that doing so created an online account. It turns out I had not actually created an online account. It would have been a lot less confusing if the login website said something like "No account has been created with that username" instead of "Password incorrect". The "Password incorrect" message implies that an account had been created and that I needed to recover my password. I was able to eventually reach a live customer support agent who helped me create an online account. I used the app to open the gate. I realize some of the confusion lies with me. If there were not so much confusion I would have given a 4 star rating. ... Read more

Frequently Asked Questions

Storage units available at Public Storage - 3840 Portola Drive include the following amenities: Indoor, Drive-Up Access, Retail Available, Onsite Manager, Contactless Renting, Security Camera, Gate, Credit Cards Accepted, Elevators, First Floor Access, Multi-Level Storage and Online Payment. Depending on what you need to put away in storage, you can discover there are some things you absolutely need, so make sure you check with the facility manager that you'll find everything you need on site.

This particular storage facility provides self storage units of different sizes, ranging from 25 to 150 square feet. Space is not an issue! If you have more belongings to store, or simply bulkier items or even vehicles, you should go for larger storage units.

You already know how much stuff you need to put in self storage, so figuring out the unit size you need is the next step. Smaller units such as 5'x5' or 5'x10' spaces can usually be filled with the amount of items you would normally store in a closet: a few chairs and lamps, sports equipment, garden tools and some boxes.

Moving on to larger sizes, imagine the 10'x10' and 10'x15' units as similar to a bedroom or a living room – larger pieces of furniture, sturdier equipment and bicycles can fit here. Finally, a 10'x20' unit has enough space for the contents of a 3-bedroom house, while the larger 10'x30' space easily accommodates the contents of a loaded semi-truck.

Monthly prices for units offered by Public Storage - 3840 Portola Drive start from $83 and can go up to $380 for larger spaces.

Accessibility and quickness are key when it comes to storage, so drive-up storage units are generally regarded as very convenient. Pull your car right up to your storage space, load, unload, and you're good to go! However, if you're mostly storing temperature-sensitive items, you should rather consider indoor storage units.

Climate-controlled units maintain consistent temperatures and humidity levels all year round, making them perfect for all your sensitive items. Moisture and varying temperatures can damage a whole host of things, and that is why a lot of people choose to use climate-controlled units to store items like wooden furniture, electronics, artwork, documents and photographs, collectibles, antiques, etc. If the belongings you're storing are important to you, you should consider renting a climate-controlled unit.
