This is the second time I've purchased a unit from Pacific Coast Self Storage, and I can honestly say this is the best spot in santa cruz with the best prices for there units. Also big ups to the new employee for being so helpful she's only been there 2 weeks and already deserves a raise. ... Read more

i've had a storage unit at the facility currently DBA Pacific Coast Self Storage since 1983. The experience has been, and still is being quite satisfactory. Just today i upgraded my original unit to a much larger one, with only great things to say about the staff, facility and service. (Shout out especially to the site manager, Fred!) ... Read more

We rented a storage from Storage Pro and if I could give ZERO stars that would be ideal. Almost the entire contents of our storage were stolen after the unit was burglarized. The thieves cut through the fence, then broke off the handle of our unit. If either the fence OR the handle were actually in good condition this would not have made it so easy for them to break in. After we talked to the onsite "manager" when we were obviously distressed losing all our possessions he was so incompetent he couldn't even help re-secure the unit and instead half fixed it to where it wouldn't lock at all and the roll up door would barely open. This forced us to have to immediately remove everything that was left since you failed to secure the unit for us in a timely manner. Honestly the whole scenario was ridiculous and this manager had no idea how to handle anything. There is someone living in the unit two down from ours. There are obvious stolen goods all around the complex. To think this storage facility is "secure" is woefully inaccurate. They failed to meet literally ALL of their contractual obligations to us. Oh and as a bonus the upper manager never even bothered to call us despite multiple requests to speak to her. I can't say enough bad things about this storage complex and the staff and safety. AVOID at all costs. ... Read more

I really like this place. I found it about three years ago after having recently purchased a piano and not having a home for it. The management has transitioned a couple of different times but all of the workers that I have had contact with have been very pleasant, very professional, and helpful for the most part. If you end up getting a unit here for your storage purposes, I recommend being on auto pay so that your code will work every time you are trying to get through the gate. It seems to work for me. I must say that my only negative feedback about this location has been the rental fee increases. The unit I am currently in, and have been in the whole time that I have been a customer at this location started at a rate of $89 per month. After 12 months, it increased to a rate of $189 per month. There have been additional increases in the monthly rental rate to date. For the same amount of storage space that I initially entered into the contract agreement for, I now pay $210 per month. That being said, I still give it five stars out of five. ... Read more

So far my experience has been great! Reserving the unit online was easy and there was a good variety in sizes to choose from. I thought the different discounts were reasonable and the size of the unit is perfect! Angie was in the office when I checked in and she is a delight! Very personable and friendly customer service. Couldn't ask for more from a storage facility really. Good job so far! ... Read more

Frequently Asked Questions

Storage units available at Pacific Coast Self Storage - 2632 17th Avenue include the following amenities: Climate-Controlled, Indoor, Drive-Up Access, Retail Available, Onsite Manager, Contactless Renting, Security Camera, Gate, First Floor Access and Online Payment. Depending on what you need to put away in storage, you can discover there are some things you absolutely need, so make sure you check with the facility manager that you'll find everything you need on site.

This particular storage facility provides self storage units of different sizes, ranging from 35 to 200 square feet. Space is not an issue! If you have more belongings to store, or simply bulkier items or even vehicles, you should go for larger storage units.

You already know how much stuff you need to put in self storage, so figuring out the unit size you need is the next step. Smaller units such as 5'x5' or 5'x10' spaces can usually be filled with the amount of items you would normally store in a closet: a few chairs and lamps, sports equipment, garden tools and some boxes.

Moving on to larger sizes, imagine the 10'x10' and 10'x15' units as similar to a bedroom or a living room – larger pieces of furniture, sturdier equipment and bicycles can fit here. Finally, a 10'x20' unit has enough space for the contents of a 3-bedroom house, while the larger 10'x30' space easily accommodates the contents of a loaded semi-truck.

Monthly prices for units offered by Pacific Coast Self Storage - 2632 17th Avenue start from $59 and can go up to $402 for larger spaces.

Accessibility and quickness are key when it comes to storage, so drive-up storage units are generally regarded as very convenient. Pull your car right up to your storage space, load, unload, and you're good to go! However, if you're mostly storing temperature-sensitive items, you should rather consider indoor storage units.

Climate-controlled units maintain consistent temperatures and humidity levels all year round, making them perfect for all your sensitive items. Moisture and varying temperatures can damage a whole host of things, and that is why a lot of people choose to use climate-controlled units to store items like wooden furniture, electronics, artwork, documents and photographs, collectibles, antiques, etc. If the belongings you're storing are important to you, you should consider renting a climate-controlled unit.
