Clean, safe and modern facility with good security. Easy to do business with and they are very accommodating and customer oriented. Front desk manager Ryan Swisher is very helpful and knowledgeable and has great customer service skills. There are front desk personnel on site Monday through Friday and this is very helpful. ... Current customer here. I visited during business hours and needed help getting into the facility. A sign in the office window indicated that the office staff would be back at 2:00 pm. At 2:45, Ryan finally rolled up and seemed incredibly irritated to find us there. He was condescending and unhelpful, refused to apologize for a long absence during business hours, and didn't understand that his behavior was utterly inappropriate. I visited with family and was embarrassed to have them witness the poor treatment I experienced. The facility itself is nice, but the service was some of the worst I've ever experienced. Decent facility is not worth the awful staff. Find another, more reliable, spot for self storage. ... Read more

Great service, convenient location. They've been very helpful while we've been living abroad to make our storage situation work well. They even held a key in case another family member needed to get in on our behalf. ... Read more

I moved my belongings from another local storage facility and moved to San Rafael Storage after a lot of research on various Marin county storage options; I found San Rafael Storage to be most economical and convenient. The facility feels very safe. It is very clean and parking is easy. Loading and unloading is less cumbersome because they also have large carts and elevators available for use. Staff is very friendly and helpful. ... Read more

Frequently Asked Questions

Storage units available at San Rafael Self Storage - 675 Andersen Drive include the following amenities: Indoor, Drive-Up Access, Retail Available, Onsite Manager, Security Camera, Gate, Parking, Credit Cards Accepted, Elevators, First Floor Access, Multi-Level Storage and Online Payment. Depending on what you need to put away in storage, you can discover there are some things you absolutely need, so make sure you check with the facility manager that you'll find everything you need on site.

This particular storage facility provides self storage units of different sizes, ranging from 25 to 120 square feet. Space is not an issue! If you have more belongings to store, or simply bulkier items or even vehicles, you should go for larger storage units.

You already know how much stuff you need to put in self storage, so figuring out the unit size you need is the next step. Smaller units such as 5'x5' or 5'x10' spaces can usually be filled with the amount of items you would normally store in a closet: a few chairs and lamps, sports equipment, garden tools and some boxes.

Moving on to larger sizes, imagine the 10'x10' and 10'x15' units as similar to a bedroom or a living room – larger pieces of furniture, sturdier equipment and bicycles can fit here. Finally, a 10'x20' unit has enough space for the contents of a 3-bedroom house, while the larger 10'x30' space easily accommodates the contents of a loaded semi-truck.

Monthly prices for units offered by San Rafael Self Storage - 675 Andersen Drive start from $128 and can go up to $477 for larger spaces.

Accessibility and quickness are key when it comes to storage, so drive-up storage units are generally regarded as very convenient. Pull your car right up to your storage space, load, unload, and you're good to go! However, if you're mostly storing temperature-sensitive items, you should rather consider indoor storage units.

Climate-controlled units maintain consistent temperatures and humidity levels all year round, making them perfect for all your sensitive items. Moisture and varying temperatures can damage a whole host of things, and that is why a lot of people choose to use climate-controlled units to store items like wooden furniture, electronics, artwork, documents and photographs, collectibles, antiques, etc. If the belongings you're storing are important to you, you should consider renting a climate-controlled unit.
