Today I moved out because I received a letter for some false allegations and when the other tenants don’t follow the same rules like for example today when I was moving out I told Carol the manager that there was a guy sleeping in his car behind my car and she went up to him and she knew his name is Jason and Carol said that is their business and the rules Carol said the rules don’t apply to Jason sleeping in his car for over an hour. Jason gave me the middle finger and when I mentioned that to Carol she laughed and smiled. I told Carol in the office that is not fair and when I was driving out after I used my access code there was another guy in a car behind me who swerved around me and he didn’t use his access code and I mentioned that also in the office and Carol yelled at me in the office saying she is not the tenant police and I said don’t yell at me and she immediately gave me my move out receipt and she said here’s your move out receipt get out. Carol is a manager and Carol is abusive and Carol is wrong for her actions. I called Saturday and I gave 3 days notice and I paid my bill on time monthly and Carol discriminated against me and Carol is wrong for her actions and shame on you for Carol’s actions. I moved everything out today and I took pictures of the unit. I also reported all of this to corporate. Shame on you Carol ... Read more

Prime storage on Mission Rd in San Marcos is by far the best storage. The prices are unbeatable and the staff couldn't be more professional. Stephanie the manager is really down to earth and if you need anything just reach out she is always willing to accommodate your needs. I recently had to move out due to location and personal issues and Stephanie has been more than patient and understanding throughout the entire ordeal. I highly recommend this storage facility. Oh I forgot to mention that every unit is a drive up unit which is more then convenient it makes moving in and out hassle free. I say 5 stars and 2 thumbs up to this place and the staff. ... I rented a large unit at that property for several years. It was a good experience until it was bought out by Prime Storage. Earlier this year, my unit became infested with rats and mice. They ruined so much of my things. They chewed up and soiled several thousand dollars worth of my things (some invaluable irreplaceable things like photos or my adult children's childhood memorabilia). I was devistated. I had to throw at least half of my things away. I had been paying $200 a month to store them there. We spent days going through everything and cleaning out and scrubbing the unit. We talked to people with units in our same build, who were dealing with rat infestation themselves. We were told by the company that no one else reported anything. They said they would fumigate the whole place. We were told to itemize our losses and the insurance (which we also paid for monthly) would take care of it. It was hard putting the list together, we included many photos of the infestation and destruction. We did our best to figure out the value of each thing, as most were not brand new things (although, we would still have to pay full price in order to replace most of what we lost if we could replace them at all). We tried to judge fairly at used prices. It came to approximately $3000 give or take. Honestly it has been long enough ago now that i cannot remember exactly what it was. When it was submitted to the insurance company there, they refused to pay for most of the items. A TRICKY little claus they had in the contract. They placed no value but a few items. They would give no more than $500. I asked Prime Storage to please pay the difference and make it right. The best they would do was to give me $100 off the rent for 3 months or my other choice was they would give me a bigger more expensive unit that i could pay at the same price for a few months but then it would be even higher rent than I was already paying. That's it. I was not in a position to just move out so I took the $100 off a month for 3 months. We set up rat traps and salted everything down in the unit because salt supposedly helps keep rodents away. We caught mice in the traps, saw rats run out when we would move things around and within just a few months it was completely infested again. We lost a lot more of our things. We didn't even try to get compensated for anything because we knew they would deem them at no value. Interesting that they refused to consider the fact that a person would pay $200 + a month to store their belongings if they were just junk. I am a single mom who is disabled and on a pretty meager income. I explained many times to them that it was a lot for me to pay that amount if those things were not really important to me. I thought my belongings were safe there. I trusted the company because it was a trustworthy company when I moved in. It changed after it was bought by Prime Storage. Finally after the 3 months and the rent went up again, and then discovering we had rats and mice chewing up and contaminating everything with their feces and urine again, I decided to just throw away what was ruined and too nasty and we move out. I had to bring home everything that was salvageable and that i could fit into my car and put them into my small apartment. I have been just selling what I can. I am having to sell those things way below what they are worth because I can't just take my time. I have no room. I paid so much rent for all of those years and never missed a payment. I was never even late on my payments. It was all for nothing. My heart broke over my losses and the company didn't care. The only good thing I can say about Prime storage is that they kept the employees that were already there before they bought it. The staff were at least caring. Unfortunately there was nothing they could do personally. I hope my story that I am sharing on here helps someone. Don't trust this company with your belongings unless those belongings are indestructible or don't matter to you. But again, why would you pay a lot of money to store them if they weren't? ... Frequently Asked Questions

Storage units available at Prime Storage - 1510 East Mission Road include the following amenities: Indoor, Drive-Up Access, Retail Available, Onsite Manager, Contactless Renting, Security Camera, Gate, Parking, Credit Cards Accepted, Enclosed, First Floor Access, Multi-Level Storage and RV Storage. Depending on what you need to put away in storage, you can discover there are some things you absolutely need, so make sure you check with the facility manager that you'll find everything you need on site.

This particular storage facility provides self storage units of different sizes, ranging from 25 to 800 square feet. Space is not an issue! If you have more belongings to store, or simply bulkier items or even vehicles, you should go for larger storage units.

You already know how much stuff you need to put in self storage, so figuring out the unit size you need is the next step. Smaller units such as 5'x5' or 5'x10' spaces can usually be filled with the amount of items you would normally store in a closet: a few chairs and lamps, sports equipment, garden tools and some boxes.

Moving on to larger sizes, imagine the 10'x10' and 10'x15' units as similar to a bedroom or a living room – larger pieces of furniture, sturdier equipment and bicycles can fit here. Finally, a 10'x20' unit has enough space for the contents of a 3-bedroom house, while the larger 10'x30' space easily accommodates the contents of a loaded semi-truck.

Monthly prices for units offered by Prime Storage - 1510 East Mission Road start from $57 and can go up to $981 for larger spaces.

Accessibility and quickness are key when it comes to storage, so drive-up storage units are generally regarded as very convenient. Pull your car right up to your storage space, load, unload, and you're good to go! However, if you're mostly storing temperature-sensitive items, you should rather consider indoor storage units.

Climate-controlled units maintain consistent temperatures and humidity levels all year round, making them perfect for all your sensitive items. Moisture and varying temperatures can damage a whole host of things, and that is why a lot of people choose to use climate-controlled units to store items like wooden furniture, electronics, artwork, documents and photographs, collectibles, antiques, etc. If the belongings you're storing are important to you, you should consider renting a climate-controlled unit.
