Read some helpful reviews of Slo Self Storage at 154 Suburban Road, shared by real renters with genuine experiences and honest opinions.

I love my storage facility. I have had a unit with them for over a year now and have moved to a larger one recently. The move was made easy and streamlined. They are friendly and know what they are doing. My man recently got his own unit here on my recommendation and his happy with it as well. I've used quite a few rental facilities all over the place in my life and I can say this is definitely one of the best ones. ... Read more

They recently changed payment processing systems. Because I was proactive and paid with a check last year, they canceled my credit card setup with auto-pay. They just hit me with late fees equivalent of 39% of my unit rental and took no ownership of the fact that the payment only 10 days late is because I assumed they would use auto-pay as they previously had. I would caution their rates seem cheap, but they are eager to make money on you with their fees. ... Read more

I love this place. All terms are clearly laid out when you sign up and if for any reason you don't pay on time they have a 10-day grace period before all hell breaks loose. SLO Self Storage is a clean place and the whole facility is well maintained. They tend to know their clientele and they don't tolerate people hanging out in their units nor do they tolerate people using the units as hobo FOBs. ... Read more

The experience I had at this location was awful. I encountered the most hostile and unreasonable customer service person I have ever met. It is entirely possible she is a very nice person and just woke up on the wrong side of the universe. Regardless, Uhaul should not allow their dealers to treat customers poorly. The Uhaul area sales manager ended up fixing my reservation (which these people cancelled due to their vindictiveness), and apologized for the situation. The Uhaul representative at Erickson (1.5 miles away) was very helpful in resolving this issue as well. I would rent from Erickson in the future, but definitely not from SLO Self Storage. ... Our U-Haul truck was available ten minutes before scheduled, no problem at all. We got a bigger truck than planned, for the same price. Starting mileage and gasoline level were accurate on the contract, so it would have been our fault if we had returned it with a full tank and essentially paid more than we needed to. ... Read more

Nothing bad, nothing great. No theft issues, they have plenty of cameras, and you can use your own lock. The hours are pretty decent. Considering it seems to be a staff of two, they keep it running pretty well. They aren't going to go at all out of their way to help you. They honestly came off as not seeming to care about you, cause they know if you don't pay for their services there will be a dozen other people willing to take yoyr place. That said they seemed friendly enough, they just didn't go out of their way. Getting a unit was simple, the units seem secure. I can't say nothing bad has ever happened there, but the reviews saying this place is atrocious aren't reliable. ... Read more

Frequently Asked Questions

Storage units available at Slo Self Storage - 154 Suburban Road include the following amenities: Drive-Up Access, Retail Available, Onsite Manager, Truck Rentals, Security Camera, Gate, Credit Cards Accepted and Multi-Level Storage. Depending on what you need to put away in storage, you can discover there are some things you absolutely need, so make sure you check with the facility manager that you'll find everything you need on site.

This particular storage facility provides self storage units of different sizes, ranging from 25 to 500 square feet. Space is not an issue! If you have more belongings to store, or simply bulkier items or even vehicles, you should go for larger storage units.

You already know how much stuff you need to put in self storage, so figuring out the unit size you need is the next step. Smaller units such as 5'x5' or 5'x10' spaces can usually be filled with the amount of items you would normally store in a closet: a few chairs and lamps, sports equipment, garden tools and some boxes.

Moving on to larger sizes, imagine the 10'x10' and 10'x15' units as similar to a bedroom or a living room – larger pieces of furniture, sturdier equipment and bicycles can fit here. Finally, a 10'x20' unit has enough space for the contents of a 3-bedroom house, while the larger 10'x30' space easily accommodates the contents of a loaded semi-truck.

Monthly prices for units offered by Slo Self Storage - 154 Suburban Road start from $75 and can go up to $425 for larger spaces.

Accessibility and quickness are key when it comes to storage, so drive-up storage units are generally regarded as very convenient. Pull your car right up to your storage space, load, unload, and you're good to go! However, if you're mostly storing temperature-sensitive items, you should rather consider indoor storage units.

Climate-controlled units maintain consistent temperatures and humidity levels all year round, making them perfect for all your sensitive items. Moisture and varying temperatures can damage a whole host of things, and that is why a lot of people choose to use climate-controlled units to store items like wooden furniture, electronics, artwork, documents and photographs, collectibles, antiques, etc. If the belongings you're storing are important to you, you should consider renting a climate-controlled unit.
