Read some helpful reviews of SecureSpace Self Storage at 5775 Winfield Blvd, shared by real renters with genuine experiences and honest opinions.

We had to find a new storage facility from Extra Space in Sunnyvale closer to our new address in San Jose and did not regret choosing Secure Space on Winfield. Their customer support was excellent, especially since we wanted to move in a few days earlier than the first of the month. Mark Randall, store manager, made sure that we made it before closing time of 5:30 pm today so he could give us our key and entry code. We really appreciated his assurance that he would be there to meet us in the office. He was very friendly and made us feel welcome. We like our unit and would most certainly recommend SecureSpace to our family and friends. Thank you Mark! ... Read more

Super easy. I went online and looked at what they had to offer called the phone number was able to get my storage unit over the phone. Went down to the office. He walked me to the storage unit. The place is very clean. Quiet. It’s awesome ... Read more

Rented here and within a few months, price increased by like 65% more than its listed full regular price for no reason. Don't come here. Read the other reviews. Apparently they are scamming everyone. They wait until you move in completely and hope you pay the increased rates without noticing or having the time to move someplace else. Even other places like Public Storage is cheaper and will not increase your rent by more than $20/30 a month per rent increase. Can't believe I have to say Public Storage is way more reasonable than this place. ... Read more

Somewhat traumatic experience . Place looks great yet process to be verified outside the gate look over an hour regardless of how many IDs I provided . Once in, I county get into my space . They assigned me a manager lock , twice , this entire process took over three hours , thus interfered with getting my stuff into storage because I paid try couldn’t access even though they kept telling me to do , they kept assigning a unit that want avail . I asked for compensation I asked them to stay open longer because flight at 7 am and this was last opportunity to store my stuff . They said no . I took the only storage locker that seemed not to be a manger lock and nonsense using I said I took this one they said oh that’s a bout bigger we will charge you more I added for up grade and be compared because I’d been there 3 1/2 hours and still thst could not figure how to give a storage unit I could access abd when I wanted to talk with supervisor I got hung up on a few times . Seems highly unprofessionally , disrespectful not caring of their impact , not accountably to value of time and its loss because of they’re because of their end . Blue lock means manager lock . After hours check in is a horribly upsetting , challenging wasn’t able to get approved workable storage unit . See what I get chergrd ... Read more

Giant thumbs down. This company raised the storage rent %70 in my 3rd month. I was told that this is basically what they do. If you want to lock in " lower price" you orignally sign up for, you should pay for as long as you want to be there when up front. So essentially it's like giving the corporation credit by prepaying all of your time. I've never in my life had a storage unit increase so much in such a short amount of time. This is definitely not a place for long-term storage. Their units are not even full! So this isnt a supply and demand issue. They have so many open units, and I don't even have a unit on a priority floor. This also wasn't an after promotion ended price increase, like I was not paying what the actual amount was and suddenly hit paying a full price. No, this was a seventy percent increase of what my signed lease rent was! There's really no way to guarantee that it won't go up again in three months. I would never have become a customer at thr current rate increase. It's way too expensive. I just think people should know that this is how the corporation runs and that it's common practice within secure space. So be prepared for your storage rent to double, triple and the like. Or you could just consistently move units every couple of months to get a cheaper price.Which kind of defeats the whole purpose of having a storage unit. Who wants to keep moving things? Just bad business. Its a new building sure. If they want to charge such large amounts. They should be more transparent and let people know rent will double , to expect that or be honest and set the rates at the price they actually want. Otherwise it's feels like preying on their own customers to increase rent so much once they are locked in. ... Read more

So I’m new in SJ. Had many many places to choose from and this was the Lucky place for me and for them. The two gentlemen men at the front desk were very welcoming. Showed me around the facility and I decided on the unit that was just right for me. But most importantly were the two guys who assisted me and took the time to show me my options. This two guys are an asset to the company by far. I’m rather picky and they are rather accommodating. So thank you very much. The facility itself is wonderful especially if the price does not change for my needs. ... Read more

This review could have easily ended with one star and a call to our movers to take our things elsewhere. Instead, thanks to the incredible customer service of Courtney, our experience turned around completely. When we arrived to move into our storage unit, our gate code didn’t work—leaving our professional movers unable to unload our belongings from a cross-country move. With movers charging over $100 an hour, every minute counted. Unfortunately, we were told we had to return an hour later due to the issue. Then, as if the situation couldn’t get worse, the elevators were down when we came back. It was the perfect storm of obstacles. But this is where Courtney made all the difference. She immediately jumped into action, determined to find a solution so we wouldn’t waste hundreds of dollars in moving fees. She arranged for us to use a temporary storage space downstairs so we could get everything off the truck. Later, when it was time to move everything into our assigned unit, Courtney once again stepped up and made the process seamless. Her quick thinking, problem-solving mindset, and unwavering commitment to customer service are why we chose to stay rather than take our business elsewhere. Secured Space is immensely lucky to have someone like Courtney—someone who truly cares, takes ownership of challenges, and finds solutions instead of excuses. She turned what could have been a nightmare into a smooth experience, and we can’t thank her enough! ... Read more

Mike was extremely helpful when I came in to sign my contract on 2/13/25! He explained things thoroughly and showed us around and set clear expectations. Fantastic experience! The next time I came in, I met Courtney and she helped me with a couple of questions and was so friendly and helpful as well! Her customer service was exceptional, too! I am so pleased with my experience thus far, and glad I chose this storage facility. The grounds are super secure and clean. All of the things that are important to me with a storage unit, and customer service have been a 10/10 so far! When I called in today, 2/28/25, Cody answered the phone and provided me with excellent and intelligent customer service. Every experience thus far has met or exceeded my expectations, so thank you all! ... Read more

Today January 7th was my first day to use this facility. I went there at 430 pm. Signed the lease with the Mgr. Mike. We walked to the elevators with 5 carts full of my belongings. He said something is wrong with the elevators and left to find out what was wrong. He previously called me on my cell to confirm my lease for the storage unit. I waited 25 minutes. I had to get the rest of my stuff out of the other storage site I was using. I returned at 530 to see a note on the Elevator button stating that they were out of order!!! I knocked on the office door and called Mike back and called customer service in India! They told me they would contact him.. At 6:01 he sneaked to his vehicle leaving all of my belongings on cart's in front of the elevator doors!!! Secure storage is not secure. The management should have just pushed my carts into an empty unit and in form me that, I can move it when the elevators are operating again. Nope, he left knowing that I was on the premises and had nowhere to store my belongings. It is 8:15 P.M and not a single call or Text. I will see if my belongings are still there in the morning...I give Secure Space storage 8- Stars! ... Read more

Frequently Asked Questions

Storage units available at SecureSpace Self Storage - 5775 Winfield Blvd include the following amenities: Climate-Controlled, Indoor, Drive-Up Access, Retail Available, Onsite Manager, Contactless Renting, Security Camera, Gate, Parking, Elevators, First Floor Access, Multi-Level Storage and Online Payment. Depending on what you need to put away in storage, you can discover there are some things you absolutely need, so make sure you check with the facility manager that you'll find everything you need on site.

This particular storage facility provides self storage units of different sizes, ranging from 25 to 200 square feet. Space is not an issue! If you have more belongings to store, or simply bulkier items or even vehicles, you should go for larger storage units.

You already know how much stuff you need to put in self storage, so figuring out the unit size you need is the next step. Smaller units such as 5'x5' or 5'x10' spaces can usually be filled with the amount of items you would normally store in a closet: a few chairs and lamps, sports equipment, garden tools and some boxes.

Moving on to larger sizes, imagine the 10'x10' and 10'x15' units as similar to a bedroom or a living room – larger pieces of furniture, sturdier equipment and bicycles can fit here. Finally, a 10'x20' unit has enough space for the contents of a 3-bedroom house, while the larger 10'x30' space easily accommodates the contents of a loaded semi-truck.

Monthly prices for units offered by SecureSpace Self Storage - 5775 Winfield Blvd start from $32 and can go up to $130 for larger spaces.

Accessibility and quickness are key when it comes to storage, so drive-up storage units are generally regarded as very convenient. Pull your car right up to your storage space, load, unload, and you're good to go! However, if you're mostly storing temperature-sensitive items, you should rather consider indoor storage units.

Climate-controlled units maintain consistent temperatures and humidity levels all year round, making them perfect for all your sensitive items. Moisture and varying temperatures can damage a whole host of things, and that is why a lot of people choose to use climate-controlled units to store items like wooden furniture, electronics, artwork, documents and photographs, collectibles, antiques, etc. If the belongings you're storing are important to you, you should consider renting a climate-controlled unit.
