Read some helpful reviews of Bay Area Self Storage at 2185 Stone Avenue, shared by real renters with genuine experiences and honest opinions.

Bay Area Self Storage is easily the best storage company I’ve used—nothing else compares. I’ve had multiple units at the Curtner location and have also used the Cupertino location, and both have consistently exceeded expectations. The staff (past and present) have always been helpful, respectful, and genuinely great to work with. They’re level-headed, professional, and make the whole experience feel easy—especially on exhausting days when the last thing you want is stress. The facilities are clean, well maintained, and never give off that “dirty” or uncomfortable vibe that some storage places do. I also really appreciate the longer entry hours. I don’t feel rushed or forced into only weekend access because of limited gate times—my schedule doesn’t always allow that, and this has been a huge benefit. What originally brought me here was vehicle storage. Everywhere else I looked felt pointless—vehicles left outside collecting dust, exposed to rodents and UV damage, and with little real oversight or security. Curtner was a complete upgrade. I was able to store my vehicle inside my locked unit, indoors, with fire suppression features. Another big plus: the drive-up units don’t feel flimsy—no cheap wood dividers or weak materials like you see at other facilities. After 10 years with them, I can confidently say Bay Area Self Storage (especially Curtner) has earned my trust. Highly recommended. ... Read more

I had a great experience with this storage facility. The customer service was excellent staff were friendly, patient, and took the time to clearly explain all the policies and options. The rates are very reasonable, and I really appreciated the full transparency with no hidden fees or surprises. Everything was explained upfront, which made the whole process stress free. If you’re looking for a storage place with great service, fair pricing, and honesty, I highly recommend this location! Melissa was super sweet. ... Read more

Kristi was very helpful in helping me move units. Very friendly and was clear communicating all the information needed from me to complete my move. Smooth transaction and followed up with me after I was off property about my unit switch and confirmation of move out from my old unit. Im very grateful she was onsite on a weekend to help answer all my questions and assist with my transition to a bigger unit. ... Read more

What a painless process in getting a unit. I literally walked in, spoke with Linda about what I was looking for. We checked out a space and I signed up on the spot. Easy. Linda was on top of the whole process and was not pushy with the 'sale'. I'd made enquiries at other facilities, but was always put off by the pushy approach to signing up. ... Read more

Anyone can tell you that moving is a challenging experience. However, any help in the process is an immense relief. Our experience with Tricia at Bay Area Self Storage on Stone Ave. in San Jose was very pleasant. We needed a 10x25 unit to store our things and a phone search led me to this facility. Tricia, the manager, gave me all the info I needed; she was very knowledgeable and engaging. I did my business in no time, thanks to Tricia's thoroughness. The whole place is very clean and well organized. Thank you Tricia and also Joe, her assistant. ... Read more

I took my client there. I moved her in and he asked for my business cards so he could get me some business. I will always recommend Bay area self storage. I'll be back when I have more clients in that area. ... Read more

Frequently Asked Questions

Storage units available at Bay Area Self Storage - 2185 Stone Avenue include the following amenities: Indoor, Drive-Up Access, Retail Available, Onsite Manager, Truck Rentals, Security Camera, Gate, Parking, Credit Cards Accepted and Online Payment. Depending on what you need to put away in storage, you can discover there are some things you absolutely need, so make sure you check with the facility manager that you'll find everything you need on site.

This particular storage facility provides self storage units of different sizes, ranging from 25 to 320 square feet. Space is not an issue! If you have more belongings to store, or simply bulkier items or even vehicles, you should go for larger storage units.

You already know how much stuff you need to put in self storage, so figuring out the unit size you need is the next step. Smaller units such as 5'x5' or 5'x10' spaces can usually be filled with the amount of items you would normally store in a closet: a few chairs and lamps, sports equipment, garden tools and some boxes.

Moving on to larger sizes, imagine the 10'x10' and 10'x15' units as similar to a bedroom or a living room – larger pieces of furniture, sturdier equipment and bicycles can fit here. Finally, a 10'x20' unit has enough space for the contents of a 3-bedroom house, while the larger 10'x30' space easily accommodates the contents of a loaded semi-truck.

Monthly prices for units offered by Bay Area Self Storage - 2185 Stone Avenue start from $54 and can go up to $623 for larger spaces.

Accessibility and quickness are key when it comes to storage, so drive-up storage units are generally regarded as very convenient. Pull your car right up to your storage space, load, unload, and you're good to go! However, if you're mostly storing temperature-sensitive items, you should rather consider indoor storage units.

Climate-controlled units maintain consistent temperatures and humidity levels all year round, making them perfect for all your sensitive items. Moisture and varying temperatures can damage a whole host of things, and that is why a lot of people choose to use climate-controlled units to store items like wooden furniture, electronics, artwork, documents and photographs, collectibles, antiques, etc. If the belongings you're storing are important to you, you should consider renting a climate-controlled unit.
