The pricing was not ok. Started at ~$70 but after 6 months they increased the price almost monthly, and after 1.5 years I ended up paying $149 per month..!! Felt really predatory. Esther was lovely though, super helpful whenever I needed anything! ... Read more

Esther was very pleasant to deal with, patient and candid about the facilities, and making sure we got a storage unit that fit our needs. Although she handled the customer traffic well, I hope the company can consider hiring additional staff to handle busier days when multiple customers show up and need simultaneous attention. ... Exceptional Service Experience I recently rented a storage unit and, upon my arrival last Sunday with a truck full of belongings, encountered an unexpected issue: the elevator was out of service, and my assigned unit was on the third floor. What could have been a stressful situation was quickly resolved, thanks to Esther’s outstanding professionalism and problem-solving skills. Without hesitation, Esther went above and beyond to find an alternative solution. Their dedication to excellent customer service, coupled with a courteous and helpful demeanor, truly stood out. I highly recommend this location (2587 Marin in San Francisco) to anyone seeking a storage facility with exceptional staff who genuinely prioritize customer needs. A heartfelt thank you to Esther for turning what could have been a frustrating experience into a seamless and stress-free one! ... Read more

The staff at this location is actually great and super-great. My negative review isn't about the staff. The pricing model is absolutely predatory: my rent went up 30% in 14 months -- and I'm not talking about the drop of the "introductory rate" -- I'm talking about a 30% increase in the base rate in 14 months. Totally predatory pricing: and they know they have you since moving stuff is such a pain in the neck. Find someone else, if you can. ... Read more

Frequently Asked Questions

Storage units available at Public Storage - 2587 Marin Street include the following amenities: Climate-Controlled, Indoor, Drive-Up Access, Retail Available, Onsite Manager, Security Camera, Gate, Parking, Credit Cards Accepted, Elevators, First Floor Access, Multi-Level Storage and Online Payment. Depending on what you need to put away in storage, you can discover there are some things you absolutely need, so make sure you check with the facility manager that you'll find everything you need on site.

This particular storage facility provides self storage units of different sizes, ranging from 25 to 250 square feet. Space is not an issue! If you have more belongings to store, or simply bulkier items or even vehicles, you should go for larger storage units.

You already know how much stuff you need to put in self storage, so figuring out the unit size you need is the next step. Smaller units such as 5'x5' or 5'x10' spaces can usually be filled with the amount of items you would normally store in a closet: a few chairs and lamps, sports equipment, garden tools and some boxes.

Moving on to larger sizes, imagine the 10'x10' and 10'x15' units as similar to a bedroom or a living room – larger pieces of furniture, sturdier equipment and bicycles can fit here. Finally, a 10'x20' unit has enough space for the contents of a 3-bedroom house, while the larger 10'x30' space easily accommodates the contents of a loaded semi-truck.

Monthly prices for units offered by Public Storage - 2587 Marin Street start from $136 and can go up to $599 for larger spaces.

Accessibility and quickness are key when it comes to storage, so drive-up storage units are generally regarded as very convenient. Pull your car right up to your storage space, load, unload, and you're good to go! However, if you're mostly storing temperature-sensitive items, you should rather consider indoor storage units.

Climate-controlled units maintain consistent temperatures and humidity levels all year round, making them perfect for all your sensitive items. Moisture and varying temperatures can damage a whole host of things, and that is why a lot of people choose to use climate-controlled units to store items like wooden furniture, electronics, artwork, documents and photographs, collectibles, antiques, etc. If the belongings you're storing are important to you, you should consider renting a climate-controlled unit.
