I used Arco’s to store my belongings for 18 months and had a phenomenal experience with them. The storage lockers are very clean and secure, and the staff are extremely kind, responsive, and accommodating. Moreover the price was very affordable too. A special shoutout to Nicole and Julia who were always so helpful and easy to reach. Highly recommend to anyone who’s looking for storage! ... Read more

I had such an amazing experience here. I came in feeling emotional and overwhelmed about having to pack my life away into storage, but the staff went above and beyond. The person who first helped me made me feel safe, supported, and even like family, giving me hope when I needed it most. When I checked out, another team member offered great advice and left me feeling encouraged. I’m truly grateful for the kindness and care I received and highly recommend this place to anyone. ... Julie and everybody at Arco's goes above and beyond to ensure high quality service and happy customers. I had to move my things in here after an unfortunate rodent issue in my family's attic where I was storing my things while traveling. Julie not only walked me through all of the fine print and laid out all of my options, but she also took the time to get to know me and my situation. Which made me feel well taken care of as the newest member of the Arco family. Although my time here was brief I can confidently recommend this family run Bay Area business. ... Read more

The only storage company I trust in the Bay Area. It's safe, fairly priced, clean and well-maintained facility with temp-controlled storage, and great customer service. I also appreciate that they are family-run. On my last visit I got to chat with Julie who is absolutely lovely, all while helping me update my information. I've used them for the first time in 2017 and came back in 2019 and have been a happy customer ever since. ... Read more

I've been using Arco’s self storage for almost 20 years now. The place is always clean, smells nice, the staff are great, I have 24/7 access to my stuff, there's free coffee and snacks in the lobby... Everything is basically perfect, and I can't think of anything that I would want to change or make better. And that's crazy. I definitely recommend this place! ... Read more

We’ve rented two units since closing our restaurant about three months ago, and the service has been exceptional from the start. The staff was incredibly welcoming and helped us select the right unit sizes. Julie, a member of the founder’s family, has been guiding us every step of the way. Her dedication, compassion, and professionalism have made the entire process seamless and stress-free. The facility is spotless across all locations, and their user-friendly website, along with convenient email and text payment reminders, makes everything even easier. Plus, the easy freeway access— even from San Francisco— adds to the convenience. A true five-star experience in every way! We are so grateful for our amazing moving company Iron Man Moving for recommending them, thank you both! ... Read more

Frequently Asked Questions

Storage units available at Arco-s Self Storage - 1357 San Mateo Avenue include the following amenities: Climate-Controlled, Indoor, Drive-Up Access, Retail Available, Onsite Manager, Truck Rentals, Security Camera, Gate, Parking, Credit Cards Accepted, Elevators, First Floor Access, Multi-Level Storage, Online Payment and RV Storage. Depending on what you need to put away in storage, you can discover there are some things you absolutely need, so make sure you check with the facility manager that you'll find everything you need on site.

This particular storage facility provides self storage units of different sizes, ranging from 9 to 100 square feet. Space is not an issue! If you have more belongings to store, or simply bulkier items or even vehicles, you should go for larger storage units.

You already know how much stuff you need to put in self storage, so figuring out the unit size you need is the next step. Smaller units such as 5'x5' or 5'x10' spaces can usually be filled with the amount of items you would normally store in a closet: a few chairs and lamps, sports equipment, garden tools and some boxes.

Moving on to larger sizes, imagine the 10'x10' and 10'x15' units as similar to a bedroom or a living room – larger pieces of furniture, sturdier equipment and bicycles can fit here. Finally, a 10'x20' unit has enough space for the contents of a 3-bedroom house, while the larger 10'x30' space easily accommodates the contents of a loaded semi-truck.

Monthly prices for units offered by Arco-s Self Storage - 1357 San Mateo Avenue start from $60 and can go up to $360 for larger spaces.

Accessibility and quickness are key when it comes to storage, so drive-up storage units are generally regarded as very convenient. Pull your car right up to your storage space, load, unload, and you're good to go! However, if you're mostly storing temperature-sensitive items, you should rather consider indoor storage units.

Climate-controlled units maintain consistent temperatures and humidity levels all year round, making them perfect for all your sensitive items. Moisture and varying temperatures can damage a whole host of things, and that is why a lot of people choose to use climate-controlled units to store items like wooden furniture, electronics, artwork, documents and photographs, collectibles, antiques, etc. If the belongings you're storing are important to you, you should consider renting a climate-controlled unit.
