I was very disappointed when I called this morning to get an explanation of my rate increase, which happened in November 2024 and now May 2025, which happens to be about $50. Prior increases have been once a year, which is understandable.I have been here for many years and everybody’s been lovely, great place, clean everything was fine. But when I called today to get an explanation, (Gabe) he couldn’t give me a straight explanation/answer and got an attitude with me and told me if I was unhappy that I could go somewhere else and he could help me find another location. I feel that this was very unnecessary and rude. He told me the standard rate was $400 for my unit and I’m paying $417 and I could not get a straight answer for that. He also told me that my unit would be capped out at some point and then he told me that it would be raised again after that no straight answers nothing resolved, except he got an attitude with me and told me I basically could go somewhere else if I was unhappy. Just blown away! I asked who the owner was and he basically said it would go through him and he would pass it along………The past mangers have all been extremely EXTRAORDINARY….. ... Read more

The storage was the nearest to home, secured, and clean. However, my experience with Gabe sold me on doing business at this location. Gabe was a pleasure to work with. It didn’t take long to find the right unit for me as he was very knowledgeable on what was available and what would fit my needs best. ... Read more

Dollar-focused office staff ruined the experience. We were long-time customers of this storage facility (3.5 years) - it was a positive experience to the very end when the office staff became focused on getting one more day of rent. The entire experience was ruined as a result. We called and gave 30-day notice to Edward on a Sunday. We received no notification or acknowledgement of the termination of the lease, which would have been a professional thing to do, but moreover, would have given a clear date to target to move out. We moved out one day late on a Saturday, as a result, they insisted on charging one more day of rent, even though they were notified we were out. This sort of petty focus by this storage facility undermines the customer experience and reflects badly on the management. Nice job, Edward - you got your $20. ... Read more

Frequently Asked Questions

Storage units available at Mission Valley Self Storage - 4437 Twain Avenue include the following amenities: Indoor, Drive-Up Access, Onsite Manager, Truck Rentals, Security Camera, Gate, Parking, Credit Cards Accepted, Elevators, First Floor Access, Multi-Level Storage and Online Payment. Depending on what you need to put away in storage, you can discover there are some things you absolutely need, so make sure you check with the facility manager that you'll find everything you need on site.

This particular storage facility provides self storage units of different sizes, ranging from 20 to 300 square feet. Space is not an issue! If you have more belongings to store, or simply bulkier items or even vehicles, you should go for larger storage units.

You already know how much stuff you need to put in self storage, so figuring out the unit size you need is the next step. Smaller units such as 5'x5' or 5'x10' spaces can usually be filled with the amount of items you would normally store in a closet: a few chairs and lamps, sports equipment, garden tools and some boxes.

Moving on to larger sizes, imagine the 10'x10' and 10'x15' units as similar to a bedroom or a living room – larger pieces of furniture, sturdier equipment and bicycles can fit here. Finally, a 10'x20' unit has enough space for the contents of a 3-bedroom house, while the larger 10'x30' space easily accommodates the contents of a loaded semi-truck.

Monthly prices for units offered by Mission Valley Self Storage - 4437 Twain Avenue start from $95 and can go up to $530 for larger spaces.

Accessibility and quickness are key when it comes to storage, so drive-up storage units are generally regarded as very convenient. Pull your car right up to your storage space, load, unload, and you're good to go! However, if you're mostly storing temperature-sensitive items, you should rather consider indoor storage units.

Climate-controlled units maintain consistent temperatures and humidity levels all year round, making them perfect for all your sensitive items. Moisture and varying temperatures can damage a whole host of things, and that is why a lot of people choose to use climate-controlled units to store items like wooden furniture, electronics, artwork, documents and photographs, collectibles, antiques, etc. If the belongings you're storing are important to you, you should consider renting a climate-controlled unit.
