Been using this storage for only 5 months and after a break-in, which after the fact I realize happens often, my safe and guns were stolen. They don't seem to care and even the police mentioned it's quite common there. I would suggest people not use this storage. ... Read more

These people are total con artists. They get you in here with a real cheap offer and then 3 months double your rent with no notice. They claim they mail out notices, but every single piece of mail I receive gets scanned and I can prove that I never got notified. Also, they claim that their rates can change monthly, so be careful. I’d hate to see someone not be able to pay their rent because it doubled and then not have access to their unit. This place is a total scam. ... Read more

Was told I would receive my door code and did not. They were closed on the weekend when I went to deliver the rest of my items so I called the 1-800#. The "service tech" on the phone told me the door code should match my gate code, which it didn't. Once she realized that she couldn't help (that being her only attempt) she told me to please hold and forwarded me to an auto dialer. It told me to enter my number and they'll call me back, which never happened! This was a long weekend and I expected to complete my move and couldn't. I'd used Life Storage for 5 years while I was stationed in Virginia with no problem so this is a localized issue. But if a portion of my items hadn't been already stored I'd be asking for my money back and choosing another location. ... Read more

This place use to be clean and safe but it is not anymore and I’m not surprised. Ever since Life storage took over security gates are always wide open at night, people go in and out without a security code, multiple brake-ins and place is dirty as hell. Clearly they don’t care anymore. ... Read more

New administration is doing a terrible job. Since they are short staffed, now whenever we need to pick up our mail is a hit or miss. You never know if you will have the luck of them being open. I went around noon and they were “closed for lunch” I had a time sensitive package I received and had to leave town. Now im getting my package late thanks to this issue, and is not the first time it happens. We will have to start looking to take our business somewhere else. ... Read more

Frequently Asked Questions

Storage units available at Atlas Storage Centers - 4511 Riviera Shores Street include the following amenities: Climate-Controlled, Indoor, 24 hour access, Drive-Up Access, Retail Available, Onsite Manager, Contactless Renting, Security Camera, Gate, Parking, Credit Cards Accepted, Multi-Level Storage, Online Payment and RV Storage. Depending on what you need to put away in storage, you can discover there are some things you absolutely need, so make sure you check with the facility manager that you'll find everything you need on site.

You already know how much stuff you need to put in self storage, so figuring out the unit size you need is the next step. Smaller units such as 5'x5' or 5'x10' spaces can usually be filled with the amount of items you would normally store in a closet: a few chairs and lamps, sports equipment, garden tools and some boxes.

Moving on to larger sizes, imagine the 10'x10' and 10'x15' units as similar to a bedroom or a living room – larger pieces of furniture, sturdier equipment and bicycles can fit here. Finally, a 10'x20' unit has enough space for the contents of a 3-bedroom house, while the larger 10'x30' space easily accommodates the contents of a loaded semi-truck.

Accessibility and quickness are key when it comes to storage, so drive-up storage units are generally regarded as very convenient. Pull your car right up to your storage space, load, unload, and you're good to go! However, if you're mostly storing temperature-sensitive items, you should rather consider indoor storage units.

Climate-controlled units maintain consistent temperatures and humidity levels all year round, making them perfect for all your sensitive items. Moisture and varying temperatures can damage a whole host of things, and that is why a lot of people choose to use climate-controlled units to store items like wooden furniture, electronics, artwork, documents and photographs, collectibles, antiques, etc. If the belongings you're storing are important to you, you should consider renting a climate-controlled unit.
