Would give 4 1/2 if I could. The half star deduction is for not reopening their bathroom. Understandable they closed it early in Covid but at this point it's ridiculous. People are there for quite some time on occasion. Beyond that, Mr. Martinez's one star review from four years ago is not reflective of my experience. The woman who has worked there for the past few years is very nice. I've had wine in a sub basement locker there for probably close to 20 years and have never been told where to park. He's right that maneuvering the carts can be tough but not nearly as much as he suggests. ... Read more

We've had a storage space here for four years. Efficient staff, kind and friendly. They've even given us a courtesy call to make our payments. I wish we had more people like this in the world. Also the prices are decent. ... Read more

I don't like posting negative reviews for businesses but I hope i can help the next person. We chose this location because it was the only local storage facility with a large enough locker available. It is a chore trying to bring your stuff to your personal Locker. First you have to be told where to park by staff and it is usually a great distance away from the entrance Door even though the parking lot area is empty see pictures. I get the feeling staff does this just so that they feel in control. Once you do Park you have to use a cart to push your stuff through double doors that are not wide enough for a mattress then into an elevator, down into the basement, ( hope that the elevator takes you to the correct floor as the buttons don't seem to work) then you have to maneuver your cart down a long zig-zag hallway and through doorways barely wide enough for the cart itself good luck if you have furniture or any large items. The staff here is also very rude and seems to forget that you pay for your storage. They are under the impression they are doing you a favor and they make you feel that way. You are constantly asked how much more material you're bringing in if you are loading or unloading and other questions that are just simply not their business. They have a long list of rules that are simply ridiculous such as you cannot even bring water into the building while loading your locker. Staff originally gave us the wrong Locker we were supposed to get the locker next to us even though it was their mistake staff told me I have to personally unload my entire locker and move it to the next door locker before I leave, and until it was done I was not allowed to leave the facility. If you choose to use this facility be prepared to have orders barked at you by staff the whole time. This location seems to have good reviews but after investigation most of the reviews seem to be done by staff or friends of staff. We changed to another storage facility the first opportunity we had our stuff was there less than one month. ... Read more

My items were stored in a temperature controlled, locked area. This area was easily accessible by carts and elevators. The staff is friendly and helpful. My Visa card on file expired and inadvertently my bill was late. I received a friendly reminder call and late fee waived. I wouldn't hesitate to store there again if necessary. ... Read more

Frequently Asked Questions

Storage units available at Allstar Self Storage - 8599 Folsom Blvd include the following amenities: Climate-Controlled, Indoor, Retail Available, Onsite Manager, Security Camera, Parking, Credit Cards Accepted, Multi-Level Storage and RV Storage. Depending on what you need to put away in storage, you can discover there are some things you absolutely need, so make sure you check with the facility manager that you'll find everything you need on site.

You already know how much stuff you need to put in self storage, so figuring out the unit size you need is the next step. Smaller units such as 5'x5' or 5'x10' spaces can usually be filled with the amount of items you would normally store in a closet: a few chairs and lamps, sports equipment, garden tools and some boxes.

Moving on to larger sizes, imagine the 10'x10' and 10'x15' units as similar to a bedroom or a living room – larger pieces of furniture, sturdier equipment and bicycles can fit here. Finally, a 10'x20' unit has enough space for the contents of a 3-bedroom house, while the larger 10'x30' space easily accommodates the contents of a loaded semi-truck.

Accessibility and quickness are key when it comes to storage, so drive-up storage units are generally regarded as very convenient. Pull your car right up to your storage space, load, unload, and you're good to go! However, if you're mostly storing temperature-sensitive items, you should rather consider indoor storage units.

Climate-controlled units maintain consistent temperatures and humidity levels all year round, making them perfect for all your sensitive items. Moisture and varying temperatures can damage a whole host of things, and that is why a lot of people choose to use climate-controlled units to store items like wooden furniture, electronics, artwork, documents and photographs, collectibles, antiques, etc. If the belongings you're storing are important to you, you should consider renting a climate-controlled unit.
