I am a returning customer here, I first had a storage unit here for over a year and closed it once it was no longer needed. This time I was helped by Bill at the front desk and he was great! The facility is always quiet and clean. ... Read more

What an awesome staff! Everyone that I had dialog with were knowledgeable, professional, and polite. The property is well maintained and managed and the storage unit was clean and well kept. The pricing for the unit didn't break the bank. I highly recommend anyone needing storage to check out Hartnell Mini Storage, not only for the pricing but for the piece of mind. ... Read more

I called ahead and asked several questions. The gentleman APPEARED very knowledgeable. He asked if I had a valid driver license. Now, I am asked this often and 99% of the time my CA State ID card does the job. Not here.... He tells me they can't let me drive on the property without a valid license. WOW! I'm not applying for a job! Just for poops and giggles.... What if I had a seizure disorder and no license and my best friend drives me every where? I WILL be researching the legality of this. ... Hartnell Mini and RV storage was an excellent place to rent a storage unit. I experienced excellent customer service from Bill, both when I started the contract and when I ended it. I was able to talk with Bill just about General things in life, he was friendly helpful and informative not only about the Mini Storage but also things in life. The storage unit was sufficient for the things that I needed I felt like my things were safe from the security measures and cameras and set up for entrance and exit from the facility. I will definitely rent with Hartnell mini and RV storage again when the need arises. Thank you for the Excellence of all the staff and for protecting the things that I own. ... Read more

I rarely leave reviews, but I felt truly compelled to share my experience with Hartnell Mini Storage in Redding, CA because it has been exceptional from start to finish. If you’re looking for a safe, clean, and professionally managed storage facility — look no further. This place is hands down the best in the area. From the moment I walked in, I was greeted with genuine warmth and professionalism by Andrew and John, the facility’s amazing managers. They are not only courteous and knowledgeable but also go above and beyond to ensure their customers feel respected, informed, and comfortable. They took the time to walk me through the unit options, helped me choose the right size, and made the entire sign-up process seamless and stress-free. The facility itself is spotless and very well maintained. I was impressed by the high level of security, including surveillance cameras and gated access, which gave me real peace of mind knowing my belongings were in good hands. The units are easily accessible, even for larger vehicles, and everything is clearly marked and organized. What really sets this place apart, though, is the customer service. Andrew and John treated me not just like a customer, but like a valued guest. They remembered my name, checked in to make sure I had everything I needed, and even offered helpful tips for moving and storage. That kind of personal touch is rare these days, and it truly made a difference. I highly recommend Hartnell Mini Storage to anyone in need of short-term or long-term storage. You won’t find a better combination of professionalism, cleanliness, affordability, and genuine care anywhere else in Redding. Huge thanks again to Andrew and John — you both are the reason this place deserves every bit of this 5-star rating! ... Read more

Frequently Asked Questions

Storage units available at Hartnell Mini Storage - 1391 Hartnell Avenue include the following amenities: Drive-Up Access, Retail Available, Onsite Manager, Security Camera, Gate, Parking, Credit Cards Accepted, Online Payment and RV Storage. Depending on what you need to put away in storage, you can discover there are some things you absolutely need, so make sure you check with the facility manager that you'll find everything you need on site.

You already know how much stuff you need to put in self storage, so figuring out the unit size you need is the next step. Smaller units such as 5'x5' or 5'x10' spaces can usually be filled with the amount of items you would normally store in a closet: a few chairs and lamps, sports equipment, garden tools and some boxes.

Moving on to larger sizes, imagine the 10'x10' and 10'x15' units as similar to a bedroom or a living room – larger pieces of furniture, sturdier equipment and bicycles can fit here. Finally, a 10'x20' unit has enough space for the contents of a 3-bedroom house, while the larger 10'x30' space easily accommodates the contents of a loaded semi-truck.

Accessibility and quickness are key when it comes to storage, so drive-up storage units are generally regarded as very convenient. Pull your car right up to your storage space, load, unload, and you're good to go! However, if you're mostly storing temperature-sensitive items, you should rather consider indoor storage units.

Climate-controlled units maintain consistent temperatures and humidity levels all year round, making them perfect for all your sensitive items. Moisture and varying temperatures can damage a whole host of things, and that is why a lot of people choose to use climate-controlled units to store items like wooden furniture, electronics, artwork, documents and photographs, collectibles, antiques, etc. If the belongings you're storing are important to you, you should consider renting a climate-controlled unit.
