I'm not from the area so I don't know anything about Pittsburg. I just needed a small storage unit to store my stuff. I rent the storage here because I had good experience with a different Public Storage and the unit I wanted was pretty cheap. $33/mo for a 5x5". Unfortunately, the rate doubled after 3 months. I cancelled shortly after. Worst thing is that many units around mine was broken into. Front desk didn't know about it until I happened to visit my unit and saw all the damage. Luckily, mine wasn't broken into. Overall, the service was fine and I didn't have any issues but due to the break-ins, I just moved out. ... Read more

Needs Improvement - customer service from front desk should be better. Communication should be better as well. Front desk associate carried negative energy and was so serious it effect my vibe and energy. I didn't like her tone of voice on how she was speaking to me. It through me off in trying to listen to her. She was speaking to me as if I already knew the faculty already. That's inconsiderate and rudeness. I didn't even get the storage unit I wanted. I was given something else. She didn't give me additional information or did she make the change for me. I kept on asking questions about the one I I was referring to and she kept on giving me answers to a different unit. It was upsetting to have to deal with customer service like this. Hope next time service is better, if not do my best to avoid the front desk. ... Read more

This was my first time with Public Storage here in Pittsburg California. I came in person to rent a unit and Cierra was first to assist me. She was extremely friendly, knowledgeable and helpful! Such a sweet person. She got me all set up with my unit and ready to go! The landscape is super secured and well maintained! All units were clean and well installed. Cierra made the process clear and concise. If moving to the area and looking for a great place to have a storage unit this location would be the best! Ask for Cierra, tell her Specielle sent you! ; ) ... Read more

Where to start? This has got to be some of the best customer service I have ever experienced at a public storage ever - and that's coming from a rather complicated customer. I visited this location several months ago after scheduling a move out. Long story short, I ended up rescinding the move out however, my lock was already taken off by the time I arrived.I was confused and eventually it was explained to me that a higher manager would have to come out and cut my new key. Thankfully, this was no issue for me as I was reassured several times that my items were safe. Fast forward to 2 weeks ago, I'm preparing to move and needed to start planning for my move out. My move out was scheduled for today 7/31/24 and I received a courtesy call reminder yesterday and today. I was able to clear out my unit with no issue whatsoever. the unit was EXACTLY as I'd left it and there were no bugs, tampering, or any other issue. I would specifically like to dedicate this review to Sea who helped me out BOTH TIMES- and when I say she went about and beyond I REALLY MEAN IT!! The first time, the gate to the facility was having issues all morning and there were other matters that needed to be dealt with and she kindly took out the time to assist me (this includes walking back and forth to my unit on the back of the D building), helping me buy a new key, and explaining what next steps were to re-access my unit. Today, she helped me pick up said keys to the lock I'd ordered before and also explained the move-out process to me. There was another lady who helped me actually check out at the counter and figure out some other things I had to do at the facility while moving out. I HIGHLY recommend this facility because they are professional, friendly, and very knowledgeable about their processes. Should I move back in town and need a storage space, this is 100% where I'll be coming for my storage needs. Thanks again Sea! ... Read more

Frequently Asked Questions

Storage units available at Public Storage - 1275 California Avenue include the following amenities: Climate-Controlled, Indoor, Drive-Up Access, Retail Available, Onsite Manager, Security Camera, Gate, Parking, Credit Cards Accepted, Elevators, First Floor Access, Multi-Level Storage, Online Payment and RV Storage. Depending on what you need to put away in storage, you can discover there are some things you absolutely need, so make sure you check with the facility manager that you'll find everything you need on site.

This particular storage facility provides self storage units of different sizes, ranging from 25 to 300 square feet. Space is not an issue! If you have more belongings to store, or simply bulkier items or even vehicles, you should go for larger storage units.

You already know how much stuff you need to put in self storage, so figuring out the unit size you need is the next step. Smaller units such as 5'x5' or 5'x10' spaces can usually be filled with the amount of items you would normally store in a closet: a few chairs and lamps, sports equipment, garden tools and some boxes.

Moving on to larger sizes, imagine the 10'x10' and 10'x15' units as similar to a bedroom or a living room – larger pieces of furniture, sturdier equipment and bicycles can fit here. Finally, a 10'x20' unit has enough space for the contents of a 3-bedroom house, while the larger 10'x30' space easily accommodates the contents of a loaded semi-truck.

Monthly prices for units offered by Public Storage - 1275 California Avenue start from $38 and can go up to $545 for larger spaces.

Accessibility and quickness are key when it comes to storage, so drive-up storage units are generally regarded as very convenient. Pull your car right up to your storage space, load, unload, and you're good to go! However, if you're mostly storing temperature-sensitive items, you should rather consider indoor storage units.

Climate-controlled units maintain consistent temperatures and humidity levels all year round, making them perfect for all your sensitive items. Moisture and varying temperatures can damage a whole host of things, and that is why a lot of people choose to use climate-controlled units to store items like wooden furniture, electronics, artwork, documents and photographs, collectibles, antiques, etc. If the belongings you're storing are important to you, you should consider renting a climate-controlled unit.
