This has been one of the worst experiences I’ve ever had with a storage company. There is a complete lack of communication, and the staff is almost never around. The posted office hours are incorrect, and good luck trying to get ahold of anyone—they don’t answer the phone, and the property manager is never on-site. I had to make FIVE separate appointments just to see a unit, and every time I showed up, no one was there. They only enforce their policies when it benefits them, and everything else gets ignored or brushed off. What’s worse is they’ll charge you for a full month even if you vacate the unit at the beginning of the month, without any notice or flexibility. It feels like they hide behind their vague policies and then selectively enforce them when it’s convenient. Do yourself a favor and go with a company like Extra Space nearby. At least they don’t play games or take your money without providing service. Total scammy experience—would never recommend Public Storage to anyone. ... Read more

Had a great experience with Jessica today. I was at the unit and she was walking around cleaning. She asked how my unit was working out for me. I’m having my rent go up next month and Jessica told me to stop by the office and she was able to delay the rent from going up. ... Read more

I last visited my storage unit sometime before COVID, and I went there on Saturday to check on things. I was fortunate to encounter Stacy, who is adept at iPhone usage and was enormously helpful —and patient— in guiding me through the use of the PS app and how to better organize my iPhone. The app, by the way, takes all of the hassle out of entering the gate. The grounds are well maintained, and the small office has packing supplies, including disc locks. ... Read more

I don't even need storage anymore but I keep mine at pinole public storage for one reason: JESSICA THE PROPERTY MANAGER! SHE IS AMAZING! I love going to storage and seeing her there she is so refreshing and such a pleasure to deal with. She always keeps me updated on things going on with the storage and always reminds me to have my payment in before it is late. I refuse to go in on her days off because she is the only one that I feel is capable of doing everything right. She should serve as an example to how other managers should strive to be. The property is always well kept and I always feel safe there. I want to thank Jessica for all her hard work ! ... Read more

Frequently Asked Questions

Storage units available at Public Storage - 2650 Appian Way include the following amenities: Indoor, Drive-Up Access, Retail Available, Onsite Manager, Security Camera, Gate, Parking, Credit Cards Accepted, First Floor Access, Multi-Level Storage, Online Payment and RV Storage. Depending on what you need to put away in storage, you can discover there are some things you absolutely need, so make sure you check with the facility manager that you'll find everything you need on site.

This particular storage facility provides self storage units of different sizes, ranging from 20 to 300 square feet. Space is not an issue! If you have more belongings to store, or simply bulkier items or even vehicles, you should go for larger storage units.

You already know how much stuff you need to put in self storage, so figuring out the unit size you need is the next step. Smaller units such as 5'x5' or 5'x10' spaces can usually be filled with the amount of items you would normally store in a closet: a few chairs and lamps, sports equipment, garden tools and some boxes.

Moving on to larger sizes, imagine the 10'x10' and 10'x15' units as similar to a bedroom or a living room – larger pieces of furniture, sturdier equipment and bicycles can fit here. Finally, a 10'x20' unit has enough space for the contents of a 3-bedroom house, while the larger 10'x30' space easily accommodates the contents of a loaded semi-truck.

Monthly prices for units offered by Public Storage - 2650 Appian Way start from $37 and can go up to $405 for larger spaces.

Accessibility and quickness are key when it comes to storage, so drive-up storage units are generally regarded as very convenient. Pull your car right up to your storage space, load, unload, and you're good to go! However, if you're mostly storing temperature-sensitive items, you should rather consider indoor storage units.

Climate-controlled units maintain consistent temperatures and humidity levels all year round, making them perfect for all your sensitive items. Moisture and varying temperatures can damage a whole host of things, and that is why a lot of people choose to use climate-controlled units to store items like wooden furniture, electronics, artwork, documents and photographs, collectibles, antiques, etc. If the belongings you're storing are important to you, you should consider renting a climate-controlled unit.
