Great experience with Kayra! Beyond doing what she needed to do help me with my storage unit she went the extra mile to make it happen for me. Fantastic job from Dalia. I came in a rush with movers. The rental process online was not working for me at all she was able to get my rental going. She was knowledgeable on the property and how to guide my movers since we had a big moving truck. showed us the space and during the rental paperwork she was able to answer my questions. What a relief from my chaotic morning. Thank you ... Read more

*Storage Locker Broken into, lost thousands of dollars of items* Do not store your stuff here. It's just a matter of time before your locker is broken into and your items are stolen. Even after my locker was broken into, Kevin, the on-site manager, gave me a phone call telling me my unit was broken into, and just left everything open. Literally left my locker open allowing other people to look inside and steal what they want. Who does this? Maybe call the police and let them investigate? I had to come in a day later, figure out everything on my own, and deal with my unit that was left open for 2 days. When Public Storage took this location over from Simply Self Storage, the place took a nosedive. Elevators broken, homeless everywhere, tweakers living in the units. The district manager, some woman who's the boss of Kevin, the on-site manager, refuses to fix any issues. The exterior doors are constantly broken, allowing for anyone to gain entry. Even the front doors can be pulled open without a code. The back stairwell does NOT have a camera, and the exterior door can be pulled open. She removed the elevator camera, and other cameras that Simply Self Storage had installed. This place is rampant with theft, even the on-site manager confirmed it. Public Storage corporate will do nothing to protect your stuff and are zero help with Police. The only thing this place is good for, is allowing robbers to break into their facility to steal whatever they want. This place absolutely sucks. I cannot stress enough to not store your items here. ... Read more

This was my first time renting a storage space and Kevin made it easy and understandable. I asked for a first floor space instead of the third floor space I rented on-line. There was one available. Kevin walked with me to the new space and explained everything I needed to know. He gave me his office number if I needed anything in the future. This was a very positive experience and I'm thankful that Kevin was working today. ... Read more

Frequently Asked Questions

Storage units available at Public Storage - 1600 North Glassell Street include the following amenities: Climate-Controlled, Indoor, Retail Available, Onsite Manager, Contactless Renting, Security Camera, Gate, Parking, Credit Cards Accepted, Elevators, First Floor Access, Multi-Level Storage and Online Payment. Depending on what you need to put away in storage, you can discover there are some things you absolutely need, so make sure you check with the facility manager that you'll find everything you need on site.

This particular storage facility provides self storage units of different sizes, ranging from 25 to 200 square feet. Space is not an issue! If you have more belongings to store, or simply bulkier items or even vehicles, you should go for larger storage units.

You already know how much stuff you need to put in self storage, so figuring out the unit size you need is the next step. Smaller units such as 5'x5' or 5'x10' spaces can usually be filled with the amount of items you would normally store in a closet: a few chairs and lamps, sports equipment, garden tools and some boxes.

Moving on to larger sizes, imagine the 10'x10' and 10'x15' units as similar to a bedroom or a living room – larger pieces of furniture, sturdier equipment and bicycles can fit here. Finally, a 10'x20' unit has enough space for the contents of a 3-bedroom house, while the larger 10'x30' space easily accommodates the contents of a loaded semi-truck.

Monthly prices for units offered by Public Storage - 1600 North Glassell Street start from $64 and can go up to $418 for larger spaces.

Accessibility and quickness are key when it comes to storage, so drive-up storage units are generally regarded as very convenient. Pull your car right up to your storage space, load, unload, and you're good to go! However, if you're mostly storing temperature-sensitive items, you should rather consider indoor storage units.

Climate-controlled units maintain consistent temperatures and humidity levels all year round, making them perfect for all your sensitive items. Moisture and varying temperatures can damage a whole host of things, and that is why a lot of people choose to use climate-controlled units to store items like wooden furniture, electronics, artwork, documents and photographs, collectibles, antiques, etc. If the belongings you're storing are important to you, you should consider renting a climate-controlled unit.
