I just started renting about 5 months ago and I've rented in the past and enjoyed my experience with public storage for like 5 years never any problems. The young lady that I rented my unit from her name was Sadie she's very nice very good work ethics place was always clean bathrooms always clean it looks great all the time. When I signed up to rent my unit Sadie signed me up and it was on the agreement that my retirement check comes in on the 22nd of each month so I would be paying on the 22nd so the past 6 months my rent is always a different price never the same it's always some issue I have to have when I go in there. I rented on the price of $99 it was a Halloween special and I'm sure it is a good deal because I've rented a smaller unit before I think it's pretty crappy that the increase in the rent wasn't even given notice to me I'm supposed to have credit for a couple months when I didn't when I paid overpayment and I tried getting on my account today and I can't get into it for some reason. I will go back down tomorrow and figure it out with the staff memberthank you and again I do like renting through public storage they're always very professional and very nice and courteous ... I never would’ve gotten a storage unit here if I’d known it would be such a stressful experience. Initially I got a 5x5 and realized it wasn’t going to fit all of my belongings so switched to a 10x5. Sadie promised me I would still get the $1 first month promotion since that’s what was shown in their system as well as online for the 10x5. Sadie and I both took screen shots of the pricing and Sadie said she would reach out to her district manager (and send her the screen shots) to get the pricing on my account corrected since she was having issues with the system. It’s been over a month and the pricing was never corrected. I was promised I would get the difference that I paid back but never did. Also the amount I signed up to pay monthly was $99 not $107 and again Sadie said she would get it corrected. Now, a new employee works here and said he would reach out to the district manager again earlier this week but when I just came in today there was still no update/changes made on my account. It’s been a very frustrating experience and I just want what was promised and better customer service instead of having to argue to get the rates I was supposed to get in the first place. Putting it back on me isn’t fair since I have zero control over the system errors that occurred with Sadie when I first got the unit. Please do the right thing and honor what was initially promised. ... Read more

Frequently Asked Questions

Storage units available at Public Storage - 1040 North Main Street include the following amenities: Climate-Controlled, Indoor, 24 hour access, Drive-Up Access, Retail Available, Onsite Manager, Contactless Renting, Gate, Parking, Credit Cards Accepted, Elevators, First Floor Access, Multi-Level Storage, Online Payment and RV Storage. Depending on what you need to put away in storage, you can discover there are some things you absolutely need, so make sure you check with the facility manager that you'll find everything you need on site.

This particular storage facility provides self storage units of different sizes, ranging from 22 to 200 square feet. Space is not an issue! If you have more belongings to store, or simply bulkier items or even vehicles, you should go for larger storage units.

You already know how much stuff you need to put in self storage, so figuring out the unit size you need is the next step. Smaller units such as 5'x5' or 5'x10' spaces can usually be filled with the amount of items you would normally store in a closet: a few chairs and lamps, sports equipment, garden tools and some boxes.

Moving on to larger sizes, imagine the 10'x10' and 10'x15' units as similar to a bedroom or a living room – larger pieces of furniture, sturdier equipment and bicycles can fit here. Finally, a 10'x20' unit has enough space for the contents of a 3-bedroom house, while the larger 10'x30' space easily accommodates the contents of a loaded semi-truck.

Monthly prices for units offered by Public Storage - 1040 North Main Street start from $46 and can go up to $274 for larger spaces.

Accessibility and quickness are key when it comes to storage, so drive-up storage units are generally regarded as very convenient. Pull your car right up to your storage space, load, unload, and you're good to go! However, if you're mostly storing temperature-sensitive items, you should rather consider indoor storage units.

Climate-controlled units maintain consistent temperatures and humidity levels all year round, making them perfect for all your sensitive items. Moisture and varying temperatures can damage a whole host of things, and that is why a lot of people choose to use climate-controlled units to store items like wooden furniture, electronics, artwork, documents and photographs, collectibles, antiques, etc. If the belongings you're storing are important to you, you should consider renting a climate-controlled unit.
