Solid 3 stars & mostly for convenience. It’s in a good location and you can get there by bus or Bart and a little walk. If the lock they gave you gets stuck or stops working, you won’t be refunded for that because the lock didn’t come with a warranty. Go there to see what size lock they use before you buy your own tubular pin lock. The promotional offers are good but watch out for price increases because they will sneak up on you. I rented for 5yrs and never had a security issue. They have lots of cameras. I’ve also spoken with someone who’s rented for 10yrs and they have also told me they have never had a security issue. But others have and you should take that into consideration. Ask them before leaving any vehicles or pods on site. They are quick to threaten to tow. Ditto on the post below about rodents. Don’t store anything that rodents can chew through. Given that it’s a single story facility, I expected that. So plan accordingly. Disinfect EVERYTHING. I’ve seen people use the storage as a work garage. So it’s probably best for short term storage and a tool shed. The site is also very clean. ... Read more

If you come to this facility, do not take a unit along the railroad tracks. They get broken into regularly. The staff did their best to help me, but you know...its just another break in and I am lucky they even called me at all. ... Read more

This place is infested with rodents and has been all year. They keep saying the problem is solved but I have hours of footage of current activity from a trail cam. Update for January: The manager keeps reporting my photos and videos that show the issue, I'm reaching out to google support to try to stop it. I can't wait until the shed in my yard has been built, so I can sever ties with this dishonest and disgusting company. ... Read more

Frequently Asked Questions

Storage units available at Extra Space Storage - 1090 29th Avenue include the following amenities: Climate-Controlled, Indoor, Drive-Up Access, Retail Available, Onsite Manager, Truck Rentals, Contactless Renting, Security Camera, Gate, Parking, Credit Cards Accepted, Enclosed, Multi-Level Storage, Online Payment and RV Storage. Depending on what you need to put away in storage, you can discover there are some things you absolutely need, so make sure you check with the facility manager that you'll find everything you need on site.

This particular storage facility provides self storage units of different sizes, ranging from 20 to 400 square feet. Space is not an issue! If you have more belongings to store, or simply bulkier items or even vehicles, you should go for larger storage units.

You already know how much stuff you need to put in self storage, so figuring out the unit size you need is the next step. Smaller units such as 5'x5' or 5'x10' spaces can usually be filled with the amount of items you would normally store in a closet: a few chairs and lamps, sports equipment, garden tools and some boxes.

Moving on to larger sizes, imagine the 10'x10' and 10'x15' units as similar to a bedroom or a living room – larger pieces of furniture, sturdier equipment and bicycles can fit here. Finally, a 10'x20' unit has enough space for the contents of a 3-bedroom house, while the larger 10'x30' space easily accommodates the contents of a loaded semi-truck.

Monthly prices for units offered by Extra Space Storage - 1090 29th Avenue start from $70 and can go up to $602 for larger spaces.

Accessibility and quickness are key when it comes to storage, so drive-up storage units are generally regarded as very convenient. Pull your car right up to your storage space, load, unload, and you're good to go! However, if you're mostly storing temperature-sensitive items, you should rather consider indoor storage units.

Climate-controlled units maintain consistent temperatures and humidity levels all year round, making them perfect for all your sensitive items. Moisture and varying temperatures can damage a whole host of things, and that is why a lot of people choose to use climate-controlled units to store items like wooden furniture, electronics, artwork, documents and photographs, collectibles, antiques, etc. If the belongings you're storing are important to you, you should consider renting a climate-controlled unit.
