I had an excellent experience with my reservation yesterday. I had to make some last minute moving arrangements and I was very pleased to interact with Steven when I arrived. We made great conversation and he was super helpful! I highly recommend this location! ... Read more

I've had multiple units at this location for over a year now, and I am happy to say that I am very satisfied with the location and the customer service. Though the building has had some issues in the past, such as with the elevators or a leaky roof, the property has been very clean and well maintained the past few months. The new gentleman supervising, Steven, has been quite diligent and efficient at getting repairs seen to and bringing things up to standard. I've had to spend a great deal of time at this location, and I can tell you it's a positive difference to which I can attest. Regarding their customer service, Steven and the rest of the staff have been extremely helpful, even when online/calling customer service was not. I've had to rent multiple units at a time, as I'm downsizing my life after losing a friend, for whom I was a caregiver, to pancreatic cancer. Every couple of months I've needed to downsize, and they've been so understanding and helpful with each transfer. I won't be needing storage in a few more months, but I'm so grateful that it was here when I did, and for the wonderful staff at this Public Storage location. And yes, I definitely recommend this location to others! ... Read more

Do not recommend! I travel and move consistently for work and this was by far my worst experience. 1) Staff is consistently unavailable to get the carts. 2) Hours of operation are limited. 3) They do not prorate or tell you that is in the lease. I have never had that happen. I will never use public storage again. They can see how much I’ve spent with them and will no longer be a customer over $200 and the experience they lack to provide. ... I went in 6/28 to put my stuff in storage and I had hard time finding my storage unit at first. The guy working, Steven, helped me find it. Then when I couldn’t get in because the lock had a broken key in it, he was able to help me get a new one and took me to it. Really helpful and patient guy, all while he was helping someone else as well. I was lucky he was there! ... Read more

Your stuff is not safe here what so ever!!!! The walls are made of thin dry wall. & with their online 24/7 booking people can come in in the middle of the night and book the storage unit next to you and cut through the wall EASILY! The company will gaslight you and make it seems like it’s not their fault some how. I just went yesterday & 4 different units were broke into! The walls are seriously paper thin!!! This is my friends unit. She’s out of town and they told her the hole was only 1 foot by 3.. when I walked in the WHOLE WALL was destroyed. they say the 24/7 online booking makes them too much money so they won’t be changing that policy. And idc if this review gets deleted. Me and several people will be blasting this all over the internet because public storage needs to change something!!!! Your customers pay too much money!!! ... The employee there, his name is uniquely Sailboat, saved my day!! He deserves a raise AND Employee of the Year. Started off needing a unit last minute. He had one, and helped me rent it. There was a mix up with the lock (my fault) and he was super patient and helped me. It was almost closing time, 6pm, and he needed to lock up the secure parking lot. I went to start my car and the battery was dead. Mind you he was the only employee there and trying to lock up and leave for the day. I called AAA and they said 2 hours. He was SUPER patient and said we would figure it out. He agreed not to lock my car in the lot and said he would wait. Before AAA got there, another customer came. She didn’t know they were closed. She had jumper cables and Sailboat helped with flashlight etc. He also allowed the woman to access her unit even though they were closed because I was dealing with the car. Anyway we got it started and he was so kind, helpful, patient. Thank you Sailboat for going above and beyond! I’m sorry you got off so late because of me! ... Read more

Frequently Asked Questions

Storage units available at Public Storage - 6840 Santa Monica Blvd include the following amenities: Climate-Controlled, Indoor, Drive-Up Access, Retail Available, Onsite Manager, Security Camera, Parking, Credit Cards Accepted, Elevators, First Floor Access, Multi-Level Storage and Online Payment. Depending on what you need to put away in storage, you can discover there are some things you absolutely need, so make sure you check with the facility manager that you'll find everything you need on site.

This particular storage facility provides self storage units of different sizes, ranging from 25 to 150 square feet. Space is not an issue! If you have more belongings to store, or simply bulkier items or even vehicles, you should go for larger storage units.

You already know how much stuff you need to put in self storage, so figuring out the unit size you need is the next step. Smaller units such as 5'x5' or 5'x10' spaces can usually be filled with the amount of items you would normally store in a closet: a few chairs and lamps, sports equipment, garden tools and some boxes.

Moving on to larger sizes, imagine the 10'x10' and 10'x15' units as similar to a bedroom or a living room – larger pieces of furniture, sturdier equipment and bicycles can fit here. Finally, a 10'x20' unit has enough space for the contents of a 3-bedroom house, while the larger 10'x30' space easily accommodates the contents of a loaded semi-truck.

Monthly prices for units offered by Public Storage - 6840 Santa Monica Blvd start from $116 and can go up to $716 for larger spaces.

Accessibility and quickness are key when it comes to storage, so drive-up storage units are generally regarded as very convenient. Pull your car right up to your storage space, load, unload, and you're good to go! However, if you're mostly storing temperature-sensitive items, you should rather consider indoor storage units.

Climate-controlled units maintain consistent temperatures and humidity levels all year round, making them perfect for all your sensitive items. Moisture and varying temperatures can damage a whole host of things, and that is why a lot of people choose to use climate-controlled units to store items like wooden furniture, electronics, artwork, documents and photographs, collectibles, antiques, etc. If the belongings you're storing are important to you, you should consider renting a climate-controlled unit.
