CAUTION: I had parked my RV in this storage space for less than 3 days before my catalytic converter was stolen. Someone cut the fence right next to my RV, slid under, and snatched it. I saw no cameras pointed at my space, and beyond a refund, the storage admin didn't give me any restitution. They were very nice before and during this process, and the space was seemingly well kept besides that, but no financial support in the theft was a bummer. Be advised when you're parking a vehicle there. ... Read more

We were looking for a storage close to my mom’s house and we came across this one. We went and were greeted by Eliza. She was so much help. My mom only speaks Spanish and thankfully Eliza also spoke Spanish so she was able to help my mom with all her questions she had. My mom felt really welcomed by her as she goes alone now when needed whether to enter the facility or make a payment because she feels she doesn’t need a translator since Eliza speaks Spanish and always helps her with anything she may need. Great job Public Storage in hiring excellent employees who are willing to go that extra mile for elder customers who may not speak English and help them. Facility has always been clean every time we have visited. Restrooms are also clean. I was surprised at how this public storage was highly maintained regardless of homelessness around the area. I highly recommend this facility. Thank you Eliza for always proving great service. ... Read more

Stop ?? Don't come to this location ?? I've been here for a few years and finally decided to move to a new location a self storage that is closer to my house and cheaper with bigger space and as I was trying to gather my belongings to move from this location I realize there was a vermin infestation they gave me one month free but the movers did not want to touch anything because of the smell and because it was feces and everywhere. They told me to call insurance and insurance company said they can only compensate me $250 Max and we're talking over $10,000 worth of stuff shoe boxes of Jordans Nikes and vans chew through and peed on bags of clothes chew through and peed on. They said it was nothing they can do. I thought my belongings were safe here and now I've lost everything and my money and they still want me to pay the rent for this month. Smh my heart is so broken but I at least want to save my belongings (my work)from when I was 15. I need a help with this. Smh ... Read more

We have been renting from many Public Storage locations but this location where Gloria has helped us with our storage rental is by far the best customer service we have ever experienced. Gloria was very helpful and she made sure we got the best valve that will accommodate what we needed. We definitely will continue renting from this location in the future with the level of customer service and attention she gives. ... Read more

Frequently Asked Questions

Storage units available at Public Storage - 649 South Boyle Avenue include the following amenities: Indoor, Drive-Up Access, Retail Available, Onsite Manager, Security Camera, Gate, Parking, Credit Cards Accepted, Multi-Level Storage and Online Payment. Depending on what you need to put away in storage, you can discover there are some things you absolutely need, so make sure you check with the facility manager that you'll find everything you need on site.

You already know how much stuff you need to put in self storage, so figuring out the unit size you need is the next step. Smaller units such as 5'x5' or 5'x10' spaces can usually be filled with the amount of items you would normally store in a closet: a few chairs and lamps, sports equipment, garden tools and some boxes.

Moving on to larger sizes, imagine the 10'x10' and 10'x15' units as similar to a bedroom or a living room – larger pieces of furniture, sturdier equipment and bicycles can fit here. Finally, a 10'x20' unit has enough space for the contents of a 3-bedroom house, while the larger 10'x30' space easily accommodates the contents of a loaded semi-truck.

Accessibility and quickness are key when it comes to storage, so drive-up storage units are generally regarded as very convenient. Pull your car right up to your storage space, load, unload, and you're good to go! However, if you're mostly storing temperature-sensitive items, you should rather consider indoor storage units.

Climate-controlled units maintain consistent temperatures and humidity levels all year round, making them perfect for all your sensitive items. Moisture and varying temperatures can damage a whole host of things, and that is why a lot of people choose to use climate-controlled units to store items like wooden furniture, electronics, artwork, documents and photographs, collectibles, antiques, etc. If the belongings you're storing are important to you, you should consider renting a climate-controlled unit.
