Read some helpful reviews of A-1 Self Storage at 9893 Riverford Road, shared by real renters with genuine experiences and honest opinions.

I would give them no starts if I could. Renters beware!! Nice does not equal trust worthy. My storage unit was broken into and I was deceived. Many items were stolen and the thief got away with it. The manager kept very important information from me. Well more like lied to me. Make sure no one sees what you are storing. When our unit was broken into and property was stolen they called us the next day. Why wait! What is there to hide? I should not have to visit every weekend to check my unit. We entrusted our property to the facility to be safe from damage and theft. That is why we are paying the $12 extra to insure our property. You should have cameras in every floor to deter theft. We should have been offered a year of free storage. Bad business model to hide the truth. Bad experience!!! We were offered way less than what the property was worth about 50% less. Warning?? property might get stolen. 8/2024 Update-not sharing my full name for a reason. I don't trust your company and the employees. 8/29/25- a year later still have not asked me to come by to rectify the issue. ... Read more

Had the best experience and actually rented a space then and there. The attendant was very professional and she helped us with all questions. We were just looking for the moment but she took the liberty of asking us if we wanted to see any units now. We were happy to look as she offered so quickly. Thanks again! ... Read more

This place is a complete rip off. Do not store your stuff here unless you want to see your rates raised every year by about $40 each time. Before you know it, you are paying $475 a month for one non-climate controlled unit. Every year they claim “market conditions” cause them to raise their rates, but never tell you what market conditions. It is all a greedy money grab with this place. For those of you like me who already rent units there, get out now cause their rates will just continue to go up every year until you are basically paying another mortgage to them just to store your stuff. I cannot warn anyone looking for storage enough, DO NOT GO HERE! I promise you will regret it. ... Read more

Your representatives went above and beyond standard customer service and it was appreciated. I was called at the onset and help offered. When I determined I would not need your service after all, I treated courteously and respectfully as they cheerfully closed out my request. Should I be in need of a storage facility in the future A-1 Storage is my go to place. Great job you guys! ... Read more

They have very friendly and helpful staff. No matter who assists you. We had gone to another faculty before A-1, and there was no one in the office. Called the number on the door and no one answered, and this was in the middle of the day during business hours. But, at A-1 someone always answered the calls quickly, if they weren't already in the office. They answered all our questions, since this was our first time renting storage. They walked us around showing is elevator access, restrooms and the gate system. A-1 is a very clean and safe facility. The other faculty had plywood walls between units and doors and hot. A-1 had metal walls and solid does, used undated locking system, and were cool inside. Units were easy to access to move our things in and out. We'd definitely use them again if we needed storage services again anywhere. ... Read more

This place is amazing. The staff are amazing. They are friendly and helpful. They even personally walked me to my unit and opened it for me to see. They don't just hand you a map with your unit circled like motels do. The units are nice and clean. I'm totally satisfied. I was there for 6 months. Every time I walked into the front office, I was greeted with a smile and a friendly face. I won't go anywhere else. After 6 months, my rent would've gone up $5. It's still worth it. The place is kept immaculate with no rodents or pests. ... Read more

Frequently Asked Questions

Storage units available at A-1 Self Storage - 9893 Riverford Road include the following amenities: Indoor, Drive-Up Access, Retail Available, Onsite Manager, Contactless Renting, Security Camera, Gate, Credit Cards Accepted, Multi-Level Storage and Online Payment. Depending on what you need to put away in storage, you can discover there are some things you absolutely need, so make sure you check with the facility manager that you'll find everything you need on site.

This particular storage facility provides self storage units of different sizes, ranging from 25 to 300 square feet. Space is not an issue! If you have more belongings to store, or simply bulkier items or even vehicles, you should go for larger storage units.

You already know how much stuff you need to put in self storage, so figuring out the unit size you need is the next step. Smaller units such as 5'x5' or 5'x10' spaces can usually be filled with the amount of items you would normally store in a closet: a few chairs and lamps, sports equipment, garden tools and some boxes.

Moving on to larger sizes, imagine the 10'x10' and 10'x15' units as similar to a bedroom or a living room – larger pieces of furniture, sturdier equipment and bicycles can fit here. Finally, a 10'x20' unit has enough space for the contents of a 3-bedroom house, while the larger 10'x30' space easily accommodates the contents of a loaded semi-truck.

Monthly prices for units offered by A-1 Self Storage - 9893 Riverford Road start from $54 and can go up to $590 for larger spaces.

Accessibility and quickness are key when it comes to storage, so drive-up storage units are generally regarded as very convenient. Pull your car right up to your storage space, load, unload, and you're good to go! However, if you're mostly storing temperature-sensitive items, you should rather consider indoor storage units.

Climate-controlled units maintain consistent temperatures and humidity levels all year round, making them perfect for all your sensitive items. Moisture and varying temperatures can damage a whole host of things, and that is why a lot of people choose to use climate-controlled units to store items like wooden furniture, electronics, artwork, documents and photographs, collectibles, antiques, etc. If the belongings you're storing are important to you, you should consider renting a climate-controlled unit.
