Very clean truck, well-kept, right in the community and the pretty lady with the cute eyeliner was nice. I noticed that the gas didn't get guzzled-up real fast like one of the other Uhaul places I've rented from. Hmmmm, now I'm wondering if some places set it that's way?? ?? Anyway, I'll be back??? ... The people who work here are very nice. HOWEVER, after not visiting our storage unit for six months, it was infested with rats when we returned. The building - especially the outside - is not especially clean, which could be a contributing factor. ... Read more

I had an excellent experience at Westchester Self Storage. Jackie and Miguel were outstanding and extremely helpful! We recently moved to a new home and Miguel helped us first with a storage unit. Good size and affordable price. He also helped us with storage boxes. Then we needed and Uhaul truck to move some items because my SUV was in the shop. Jackie got us the truck fast and easy. When I was moving a large appliance, I realized that I needed a different size hand truck than one used for boxes. I called Jackie and when I arrived to pick it up, she was waiting for me with it at the gate. Both Miguel and Jackie made our move simple, easy and fast. Great customer service! Thanks! ... Read more

Best staff!!! I recommend this place to anyone that's looking for storage. No sneaky hidden fees... They're straight up with their prices. It's an older building so that allows you to pick from a variety of units to accommodate your needs. ... Read more

Frequently Asked Questions

Storage units available at Westchester Self Storage - 940 West Florence Avenue include the following amenities: Indoor, Drive-Up Access, Retail Available, Onsite Manager, Truck Rentals, Security Camera, Gate, Parking, Credit Cards Accepted, Multi-Level Storage and Online Payment. Depending on what you need to put away in storage, you can discover there are some things you absolutely need, so make sure you check with the facility manager that you'll find everything you need on site.

You already know how much stuff you need to put in self storage, so figuring out the unit size you need is the next step. Smaller units such as 5'x5' or 5'x10' spaces can usually be filled with the amount of items you would normally store in a closet: a few chairs and lamps, sports equipment, garden tools and some boxes.

Moving on to larger sizes, imagine the 10'x10' and 10'x15' units as similar to a bedroom or a living room – larger pieces of furniture, sturdier equipment and bicycles can fit here. Finally, a 10'x20' unit has enough space for the contents of a 3-bedroom house, while the larger 10'x30' space easily accommodates the contents of a loaded semi-truck.

Accessibility and quickness are key when it comes to storage, so drive-up storage units are generally regarded as very convenient. Pull your car right up to your storage space, load, unload, and you're good to go! However, if you're mostly storing temperature-sensitive items, you should rather consider indoor storage units.

Climate-controlled units maintain consistent temperatures and humidity levels all year round, making them perfect for all your sensitive items. Moisture and varying temperatures can damage a whole host of things, and that is why a lot of people choose to use climate-controlled units to store items like wooden furniture, electronics, artwork, documents and photographs, collectibles, antiques, etc. If the belongings you're storing are important to you, you should consider renting a climate-controlled unit.
