my son had paperwork for his car in his unit and his car was towed, so he didn’t have his keys, so we asked Christine the manager, if we could cut it off and was told we had to make an appointment and if we cut it off ourselves we would have to sign papers. But never asked if we wanted to. Then when I called her , she told me they don’t have to help us and told me they were in a meeting, and when I asked who her supervisor was and for their number, she told me she was the boss and reported to no one! She was very rude and short with me, when I was nothing but polite to her. Then she hung up onme. Rude condisending and just mean. ... Read more

I would not recommend this storage facility. I was only there a less than a month and I experienced rats on my furniture and the ceiling had water coming through which destroyed most of my belongings. The manager was notified of the situation and did not apologize to what I had experienced with my property. The manager lacks customer services and it wouldnt hurt to greet your customer's that keep you in business satisfied .. facility lacks customer service ... Read more

Frequently Asked Questions

Storage units available at AAA Storage of Highland - 27171 East 5th Street include the following amenities: Drive-Up Access, Onsite Manager, Security Camera, Gate, Parking, Credit Cards Accepted, Online Payment and RV Storage. Depending on what you need to put away in storage, you can discover there are some things you absolutely need, so make sure you check with the facility manager that you'll find everything you need on site.

You already know how much stuff you need to put in self storage, so figuring out the unit size you need is the next step. Smaller units such as 5'x5' or 5'x10' spaces can usually be filled with the amount of items you would normally store in a closet: a few chairs and lamps, sports equipment, garden tools and some boxes.

Moving on to larger sizes, imagine the 10'x10' and 10'x15' units as similar to a bedroom or a living room – larger pieces of furniture, sturdier equipment and bicycles can fit here. Finally, a 10'x20' unit has enough space for the contents of a 3-bedroom house, while the larger 10'x30' space easily accommodates the contents of a loaded semi-truck.

Accessibility and quickness are key when it comes to storage, so drive-up storage units are generally regarded as very convenient. Pull your car right up to your storage space, load, unload, and you're good to go! However, if you're mostly storing temperature-sensitive items, you should rather consider indoor storage units.

Climate-controlled units maintain consistent temperatures and humidity levels all year round, making them perfect for all your sensitive items. Moisture and varying temperatures can damage a whole host of things, and that is why a lot of people choose to use climate-controlled units to store items like wooden furniture, electronics, artwork, documents and photographs, collectibles, antiques, etc. If the belongings you're storing are important to you, you should consider renting a climate-controlled unit.
