Read some helpful reviews of Public Storage at 5045 North Gates Avenue, shared by real renters with genuine experiences and honest opinions.

Alice greeted me when I was in need to finish up a contract here at public storage. She was very kind courteous and willing to help me figure out the details so that I could do what I needed to do. She not only saved me time but she made my day a little bit brighter with her very pleasant and professional attitude. It's because of her a professionalism that I will continue using public storage for all of my storage needs. If she wasn't so happy with her current job I would invite her to join our corporation in a minute she's exactly the kind of professionalism that we look for in new associates. Public Storage has been, without question, the worst storage facility experience I’ve ever had. My RV trailer has been broken into multiple times. On one occasion, the perimeter fence was cut. I personally purchased plywood to temporarily cover the hole while waiting for proper maintenance to repair it. That was over a year ago. Recently, I was notified again that my RV had been broken into, and when I inspected the property, I discovered the fence was never repaired. Despite multiple notifications, nothing was done. The lack of accountability is shocking. The district manager has been unresponsive, and when I asked what steps could be taken to prevent this from happening again, the response I received was simply that I should move my RV to another location. Instead of addressing the ongoing security failures such as repairing the fence, increasing security, or closing compromised access points the responsibility was pushed onto me as the customer. I am extremely disappointed and cannot wait to remove my trailer from this facility. I would strongly caution anyone considering storing valuable property here. ... Read more

Shirley is a friendly manager, she's not rude and extremely helpful. Keeps the facility clean and doing business with her has been a good experience since I've moved into public storage. I like her she gives down to earth and understanding I won't move into a storage if I don't like the attitude of the people working there or if it's dirty. Gates do lock and close at 6 this location is on office hours which I didn't know when I got a storage there but I understand that it probably keeps thieves out. Anyways 5 stars ... Read more

Frequently Asked Questions

Depending on what you need to put away in storage, you can discover there are some things you absolutely need, so make sure you check with the facility manager that you'll find everything you need on site.

This particular storage facility provides self storage units of different sizes, ranging from 25 to 200 square feet. Space is not an issue! If you have more belongings to store, or simply bulkier items or even vehicles, you should go for larger storage units.

You already know how much stuff you need to put in self storage, so figuring out the unit size you need is the next step. Smaller units such as 5'x5' or 5'x10' spaces can usually be filled with the amount of items you would normally store in a closet: a few chairs and lamps, sports equipment, garden tools and some boxes.

Moving on to larger sizes, imagine the 10'x10' and 10'x15' units as similar to a bedroom or a living room – larger pieces of furniture, sturdier equipment and bicycles can fit here. Finally, a 10'x20' unit has enough space for the contents of a 3-bedroom house, while the larger 10'x30' space easily accommodates the contents of a loaded semi-truck.

Monthly prices for units offered by Public Storage - 5045 North Gates Avenue start from $75 and can go up to $166 for larger spaces.

Accessibility and quickness are key when it comes to storage, so drive-up storage units are generally regarded as very convenient. Pull your car right up to your storage space, load, unload, and you're good to go! However, if you're mostly storing temperature-sensitive items, you should rather consider indoor storage units.

Climate-controlled units maintain consistent temperatures and humidity levels all year round, making them perfect for all your sensitive items. Moisture and varying temperatures can damage a whole host of things, and that is why a lot of people choose to use climate-controlled units to store items like wooden furniture, electronics, artwork, documents and photographs, collectibles, antiques, etc. If the belongings you're storing are important to you, you should consider renting a climate-controlled unit.
