Read some helpful reviews of Derrel-s Mini Storage at 3502 West San Jose Avenue, shared by real renters with genuine experiences and honest opinions.

I’m very new to the area but had been researching storage spaces prior to my move. With so many location to choose from, to include one near my home, Derrel was the obvious choice. I don’t think I could aptly describe the peace and calm I felt when arriving to the property but there’s a beautiful rocky water fountain out front and of the plush green forestry look, it did not at all disappoint. When stepping through the front door of the air conditioned office (thank God!) I was promptly greeted with one of the warmest smiles and most welcoming hello’s. Dennis was very professional and patient when addressing my concerns and yet as time was winding down, he suggested I should return the following day when two of his colleagues would be present, making it easier to show me the grounds as well as the discounted/promotional unit(s). I arrived just around 11:00 am. Can I just say I was thoroughly impressed with the EXCELLENT customer service I received from these two gentleman, Larry and Rick (sorry Rick - name tag?). This place, at least in my eyes is huge, and yet the cleanliness of the grounds and the order of the office space is immaculate. From ink pens to key rings, everything seemed to have been its place including the files in cabinets where they belong! The check in process for renting a space was pretty easy and with an up to date system, payment options ABBA signatures was a streamlined process. Lastly, I also had the privilege of meeting two additional guests over the two days, Ms. Beth who with the aid and support of Dennis were both very instrumental in making suggestions and pointing me in the right direction for employment (criminal justice, paralegal, notary public) and eventually, the shy fur baby for whom they are hoping to find a home. With such wonderful customer service (we need more of this, please and thank you) and the beautiful green scenery, the clean grounds and the peaceful water fountain, I wouldn’t easily give this location a 10 out of 10 and would highly recommend them! It's just a storage! Awful. The surroundings are well lighted, kept, and maintained. However, for long period storage the items do get very dusty and dry rot; they get bugs and contact with infestations, don't just take your stuff home and into your house without airing out. I have been storing there over 5 years, and every time I go back, my belongings have been ransacked. It can be pretty annoying and irritating, it hurts when you you think youre paying to save your items, and they end up still being destroyed. what's up with that, but they insist no one goes into the storages, it's frustrating, so the last time I went I took pictures, so when I go back, I will see if everything is the same, I have something to compare. I have also taken a video ... Read more

Frequently Asked Questions

Storage units available at Derrel-s Mini Storage - 3502 West San Jose Avenue include the following amenities: Climate-Controlled, Drive-Up Access, Retail Available, Onsite Manager, Security Camera, Gate, Credit Cards Accepted and Online Payment. Depending on what you need to put away in storage, you can discover there are some things you absolutely need, so make sure you check with the facility manager that you'll find everything you need on site.

This particular storage facility provides self storage units of different sizes, ranging from 25 to 800 square feet. Space is not an issue! If you have more belongings to store, or simply bulkier items or even vehicles, you should go for larger storage units.

You already know how much stuff you need to put in self storage, so figuring out the unit size you need is the next step. Smaller units such as 5'x5' or 5'x10' spaces can usually be filled with the amount of items you would normally store in a closet: a few chairs and lamps, sports equipment, garden tools and some boxes.

Moving on to larger sizes, imagine the 10'x10' and 10'x15' units as similar to a bedroom or a living room – larger pieces of furniture, sturdier equipment and bicycles can fit here. Finally, a 10'x20' unit has enough space for the contents of a 3-bedroom house, while the larger 10'x30' space easily accommodates the contents of a loaded semi-truck.

Monthly prices for units offered by Derrel-s Mini Storage - 3502 West San Jose Avenue start from $54 and can go up to $594 for larger spaces.

Accessibility and quickness are key when it comes to storage, so drive-up storage units are generally regarded as very convenient. Pull your car right up to your storage space, load, unload, and you're good to go! However, if you're mostly storing temperature-sensitive items, you should rather consider indoor storage units.

Climate-controlled units maintain consistent temperatures and humidity levels all year round, making them perfect for all your sensitive items. Moisture and varying temperatures can damage a whole host of things, and that is why a lot of people choose to use climate-controlled units to store items like wooden furniture, electronics, artwork, documents and photographs, collectibles, antiques, etc. If the belongings you're storing are important to you, you should consider renting a climate-controlled unit.
