Had the pleasure of being helped by Saroj today. He was really kind and explained everything to us and made sure we understood everything. We left our old storage due to pricing and we were very happy to find a bigger place and for a better price. I highly recommend and appreciate Saroj. Thank you so much for your help today. Everything was set up in an hour or less! We got to move in our stuff right away! Thank you again!!!! ... Read more

I reserved my storage unit online and came in to finalize things. I was excited to have found this place because it is less than a mile from my house. I had a great experience with Saroj! When I tell you, he is the type of person that will excel in any field because he cares about doing a good job. He answered all of my questions and went above and beyond with showing me a second unit. They were exactly the same size but one was a little tricky to open and the other was easier. The company had a special for the first month which was a great price for the size of the unit. He took his time explaining everything to me and took additional time to explain the insurance options as well. Moving is very stressful and it was wonderful to have ONE portion of the process go smoothly with no hiccups. The process was easy and quick and the grounds are clean and well maintained. If you need a storage in town, GO SEE SAROJ! ... Read more

Very pleased with the entire set-up process! I had multiple staff members who were willing to help in person and by phone. Everything was set up within the hour, and I was able to access my unit right away. I can easily come and go when needed. The price is great and just what I needed. ... Read more

We transferred our existing storage unit to this location because of the convenient location and great pricing, and we couldn’t be happier. The cost is excellent compared to other storage facilities. Emanuel was incredibly kind and helpful throughout the process. I scheduled a same-day move-in, and he personally called to make sure we had everything we needed and let us know he’d be on-site if we needed assistance. As it turned out, we did! We had a little trouble finding our unit, and Emanuel happily guided us there and was so sweet. He even left a bottle of water in the unit for us, which was such a thoughtful and appreciated touch. ... Read more

Extra space was easy, friendly clean and efficient. I used the storage for about 6 months and always had easy in and out access, easy parking and friendly staff. It was clean and convenient. The day I moved out I could not find my keys at all and Nelson was so helpful and calmed me down and easily helped me access my unit while my movers were waiting. I would definitely use them again at any location but Newark was amazing! ... Read more

very helpful in setting up account and getting me settled in. Also helped me to lower cost by advising me that insurance cost could be avoided if my home owners insurance applied. When I had Public Storage - no such advise. ... Read more

From what I can tell, EXTRA SPACE STORAGE is based in Utah and going all around the country. Buying up mom and pops storage units and doubling the prices within 2 year's. DON'T USE THEIR SERVICE'S. If you can find a better place, they are out there. But Extra Space Storage is going to cost you more in the long run. My Storage Unit went from $175 to $375 in the matter of 4 year's. ... Read more

Prateek was very nice. The storage I recently purchased is much more satisfying than I thought. First of all, I liked the neat design and the fact that it looked good wherever I put it, and the storage space is full, so it's perfect for organizing small things. Had the best experience at this storage place after a string of bad experiences at nearby Public Storages. We worked with Katie who was super helpful, did all she could to make sure we had what we needed, and made sure we kept costs as low as possible. If you are looking for a place to rent a unit on a short term basis, this is a great choice. However, if you plan on renting for anywhere near 6+ months, I would run in the other direction. Move in was simple, painless and without issue. We store our camping / outdoor items in a 5x8 storage and started with a rental amount of $44 which I knew would go up as it was too good of a price (with comps being then and still around $60-65 - I checked this morning). 6 months in and my automatic payment was $10 more than I normally pay. I called and asked about it and they said that they sent out a rent increase notice 30 days prior, that it is a small postcard and most people dismiss it. I did not receive it. We don't get much mail and go through it all. Since it was just $10, I let it go. Now it has been another 6 months and I went to pay my unit rent (which is due in 10 days) and I have discovered that they literally DOUBLED my monthly rent to $108. Again, no notice received, no notification from the app, NOTHING. I called, assuming I had a payment that didn't process and the manager was rude telling me over and over that I just must have thrown it away - same song and dance as before. But we did not receive it, period. This company exclusively communicates by text and email and yet with increases, they send little post cards that they even state "most people think are junk mail and throw them away". Truthfully, I find this predatory. And to DOUBLE the rent is insane and likely because they had one building burn down and have the expense of that. But, not my problem. Especially as comps in the area, even at other locations of the same company, are way cheaper and a lot nicer. In the end, I was told to pay double or find another rental and so I did. Now, I have to move all my stuff in 9 days. Why on earth couldn't they just send an email? Shady as hell. It is a relatively clean facility and has a service that was pretty easy. There is NO parking, literally, there (one handicap space, all other spaces have to block someone's unit) and the buildings are really old and have a funky smell. But they are pretty clean and without pests for the most part so I liked it. But, not after this. I also have another unit with the same company but different location and DO NOT have this problem. ... Read more

Frequently Asked Questions

Storage units available at SecureSpace Self Storage - 38491 Fremont Blvd include the following amenities: Indoor, Drive-Up Access, Retail Available, Onsite Manager, Contactless Renting, Security Camera, Gate, Parking, Credit Cards Accepted, Multi-Level Storage, Online Payment and RV Storage. Depending on what you need to put away in storage, you can discover there are some things you absolutely need, so make sure you check with the facility manager that you'll find everything you need on site.

You already know how much stuff you need to put in self storage, so figuring out the unit size you need is the next step. Smaller units such as 5'x5' or 5'x10' spaces can usually be filled with the amount of items you would normally store in a closet: a few chairs and lamps, sports equipment, garden tools and some boxes.

Moving on to larger sizes, imagine the 10'x10' and 10'x15' units as similar to a bedroom or a living room – larger pieces of furniture, sturdier equipment and bicycles can fit here. Finally, a 10'x20' unit has enough space for the contents of a 3-bedroom house, while the larger 10'x30' space easily accommodates the contents of a loaded semi-truck.

Accessibility and quickness are key when it comes to storage, so drive-up storage units are generally regarded as very convenient. Pull your car right up to your storage space, load, unload, and you're good to go! However, if you're mostly storing temperature-sensitive items, you should rather consider indoor storage units.

Climate-controlled units maintain consistent temperatures and humidity levels all year round, making them perfect for all your sensitive items. Moisture and varying temperatures can damage a whole host of things, and that is why a lot of people choose to use climate-controlled units to store items like wooden furniture, electronics, artwork, documents and photographs, collectibles, antiques, etc. If the belongings you're storing are important to you, you should consider renting a climate-controlled unit.
