I was having a horrible day and needed to go and visit my storage unit. I had questions about my billing, other units that may be available for my use, etc. The gentleman at the front desk, Keith, was extremely informative. I appreciated his polite and professional manner. Please, hire more employees like Keith. He really made my visit today! ... Read more

This place is amazing. I got the pleasure to speak to Fernando the district district manager as there was nobody in the office as an auction. Buyer time is really important to me driving around town and he went way out of his way to get me the information that I needed to be able to extract the items out of a unit ... Read more

I spent thousands on 2 large units for a couple of years. When I went to get my things from my storage units I was disgusted by the condition I found things in my units everything was covered in rat urine and feces. There were 3 dead rats inside one chewed a hole in a box and with my comforters and blankets. I found another one dead on an expensive heat, massage, lift recliner. The rat chewed into the thick plastic I had covered and secured carefully to keep it clean. I was never notified of the rat infestation that was obvious. It took us longer than it would have to move my things because we were worried about breathing in and touching the dried urine and feces that could make us sick enough to be hospitalized or kill someone in as little as 24 hours . We didn't know if it was just nasty or were we being exposed 35 life threatening diseases like the Hantavirus that can kill someone in 24 hours. They poisoned the rats but not until they were infested with rats. One rat they poisoned died on my massage recliner seat cushion from the poison and was decomposed . We had to give them extra money to give us more time to get my things everything had to be wiped down. We had to wear gloves and masks while trying not to stir up dust so we wouldn't breathe it into our lungs, nose or possibly get into our eyes. They never informed me there was a problem they didn't offer any gloves, face masks, spray bottle w/water and rags to wipe off as much rat feces and urine from items before . My large framed pictures had dried urine stains down the glass and frame. Because we had to go slowly I couldn't get my things out in 2 days and I paid for a little extra time and explained to situation and showed the manager how bad it was so they knew they situation right away. I told them I was going to be moving everything out and I would be out on a specific date but I didn't know about the situation until I got there and I should have been given a few extra days and I shouldn't have to even ask. I also shouldn't have to have given the lady the last of the money I had for a few extra hours. They should have done the right thing and had someone come to remove the dead rats feces and urine from my items in the storage. They knew they would benefit if I couldn't get my things out. Everything would have been moved out easily if we didn't have to be so careful . There was a healthy man that lived somewhere around big Bear I believe. He died because he unknowingly inhaled dried rat dropping when he was sweeping out his cabin. He passed away the next day from the Hantavirus that is spread by rats. They let the rats get so bad and never notified me about it. Then the callous way they never offered another couple of days or help even offer to have someone come help with clean up. Very disappointed and would never recommend this storage. Sheila ... Read more

If I could give minis 10 stars, I would! I received a call from some RUDE girl from the Colton location, regarding a unit I had reserved for the Fontana location, I wanted to see the unit before completing the reservation, she RUDELY told me, we left you 1, 2, 3, 4, messages, and you just called back?! I have been really sick, and renting a unit from them was NOT a priority at the moment! I have been in the customer service management, field my entire career, and I would have fired that little girl, on the spot for the way she talked to me! Five minutes later she called me back, and RUDELY told me again, that the rate they quoted me was no longer available, and was now doubled the monthly rate! This is the way Public Storage does business?! I will just go to the competitor next door! DONT RENT FROM THEM! ... Read more

Frequently Asked Questions

Storage units available at Public Storage - 17173 Valley Blvd include the following amenities: Indoor, Drive-Up Access, Retail Available, Onsite Manager, Contactless Renting, Security Camera, Gate, Credit Cards Accepted, Elevators, First Floor Access, Multi-Level Storage and Online Payment. Depending on what you need to put away in storage, you can discover there are some things you absolutely need, so make sure you check with the facility manager that you'll find everything you need on site.

This particular storage facility provides self storage units of different sizes, ranging from 25 to 300 square feet. Space is not an issue! If you have more belongings to store, or simply bulkier items or even vehicles, you should go for larger storage units.

You already know how much stuff you need to put in self storage, so figuring out the unit size you need is the next step. Smaller units such as 5'x5' or 5'x10' spaces can usually be filled with the amount of items you would normally store in a closet: a few chairs and lamps, sports equipment, garden tools and some boxes.

Moving on to larger sizes, imagine the 10'x10' and 10'x15' units as similar to a bedroom or a living room – larger pieces of furniture, sturdier equipment and bicycles can fit here. Finally, a 10'x20' unit has enough space for the contents of a 3-bedroom house, while the larger 10'x30' space easily accommodates the contents of a loaded semi-truck.

Monthly prices for units offered by Public Storage - 17173 Valley Blvd start from $79 and can go up to $346 for larger spaces.

Accessibility and quickness are key when it comes to storage, so drive-up storage units are generally regarded as very convenient. Pull your car right up to your storage space, load, unload, and you're good to go! However, if you're mostly storing temperature-sensitive items, you should rather consider indoor storage units.

Climate-controlled units maintain consistent temperatures and humidity levels all year round, making them perfect for all your sensitive items. Moisture and varying temperatures can damage a whole host of things, and that is why a lot of people choose to use climate-controlled units to store items like wooden furniture, electronics, artwork, documents and photographs, collectibles, antiques, etc. If the belongings you're storing are important to you, you should consider renting a climate-controlled unit.
