This is a good public storage with great service. It is clean and well maintained. Karen was the store manager when we were there. She provided thoughtful guides and was very helpful answering our questions. There was a small accident — we got trapped in the elevator for an hour (and for this I deduct one star). Good thing is it was easy to contact people for help. The elevator emergency call system worked well. Karen also responded quickly and kept checking with us to make sure we were doing well (that was very appreciated!!) Bad thing is maintenance came a bit late and it felt like forever… maybe because it was Sunday late afternoon. ... Read more

The property manager is helpful during office hours - my review is not related to their service, but is related to being able to access my unit during the actual published hours. The gate was/has been nonfunctional several times due to which I was unable to access my unit. Naturally, this amounts to being unable to access the service I was paying for, at no fault of my own. It’s understandable that such things happen, but the fact that this happened several times is unacceptable. Of course, customer service says “there’s nothing we can do.” I caution against renting units here unless you are absolutely certain you will only access your unit during office hours - which, for most working professionals, is an impractical limitation. I closed my unit today as a result of this problem. ... Read more

I was very satisfied with the customer service at this public storage location. Jennifer is a great manager.... she found sensitive personal documents I left during my move-out and immediately notified me + shipped the documents to me on her own accord. I highly recommend this location for storage based on my experience with Jennifer and the staff. ... Read more

I can't say enough about how great Margaret was! I was helping a friend look for storage and her facility seemed to have the best rates for the size storage I was looking for plus it had the first month for $1 special. When I went there, she was very personable, friendly, and professional right from the start. She took the time to show me two different units, and helped me decide which one would fit my needs best. I set up a move in time for the next day at 10:00 am. Unfortunately, that morning I decided that perhaps a storage in San Francisco would suit my friend better, rather than Palo Alto. When I let Margaret know that I was cancelling, she was not annoyed in the least, she actually asked how she could be most helpful in making this work for us! I had a concern about payment terms at the new facility I was looking at and she took the time to investigate personally and call me back with very accurate information which was exactly what I needed to know. I feel like she didn't have to do anything else for me after I cancelled my unit at her location, but she went above and beyond any kind of customer service I have almost ever experienced in any business, seriously! I called her to let her know that everything worked out at the new location, and she was genuinely happy that she could be helpful. If you ever need help with storage, you definitely need to contact Margaret at Public Storage in Palo Alto! ... Read more

Waste off money and time. Came tonight to get supplies I need for guests tomorrow... Only to find someone decided to closes the gate at 6 instead of 9. See photos. It is self storage, nobody needs to be there to let me on, they just need to not turn off the gate. Go elsewhere, this business had one job and they can't do it. ... Read more

Frequently Asked Questions

Storage units available at Public Storage - 2047 East Bayshore Road include the following amenities: Climate-Controlled, Indoor, Drive-Up Access, Retail Available, Onsite Manager, Contactless Renting, Security Camera, Gate, Credit Cards Accepted, Elevators, First Floor Access, Multi-Level Storage and Online Payment. Depending on what you need to put away in storage, you can discover there are some things you absolutely need, so make sure you check with the facility manager that you'll find everything you need on site.

This particular storage facility provides self storage units of different sizes, ranging from 25 to 150 square feet. Space is not an issue! If you have more belongings to store, or simply bulkier items or even vehicles, you should go for larger storage units.

You already know how much stuff you need to put in self storage, so figuring out the unit size you need is the next step. Smaller units such as 5'x5' or 5'x10' spaces can usually be filled with the amount of items you would normally store in a closet: a few chairs and lamps, sports equipment, garden tools and some boxes.

Moving on to larger sizes, imagine the 10'x10' and 10'x15' units as similar to a bedroom or a living room – larger pieces of furniture, sturdier equipment and bicycles can fit here. Finally, a 10'x20' unit has enough space for the contents of a 3-bedroom house, while the larger 10'x30' space easily accommodates the contents of a loaded semi-truck.

Monthly prices for units offered by Public Storage - 2047 East Bayshore Road start from $92 and can go up to $455 for larger spaces.

Accessibility and quickness are key when it comes to storage, so drive-up storage units are generally regarded as very convenient. Pull your car right up to your storage space, load, unload, and you're good to go! However, if you're mostly storing temperature-sensitive items, you should rather consider indoor storage units.

Climate-controlled units maintain consistent temperatures and humidity levels all year round, making them perfect for all your sensitive items. Moisture and varying temperatures can damage a whole host of things, and that is why a lot of people choose to use climate-controlled units to store items like wooden furniture, electronics, artwork, documents and photographs, collectibles, antiques, etc. If the belongings you're storing are important to you, you should consider renting a climate-controlled unit.
